  • A: Yes- in my battery operated touch lamps - we use when power out. Live on Gulf Coast- lots of hurricanes & storms. The batteries (3) were only in lamp 3 weeks & leaked bad enough to ruin lamp. Worst part I found out during the next 4 day blackout & I’m disabled & don’t drive so I was so scared- NO LIGHT @ ALL. Had to throw lamp away & buy new 1- wouldn’t clean up plus made holes in several wash cloths trying to clean battery compartment. No probs before this one though.

Q: what is the expected shelf life of aa & aaa up&up brand batteries? is it 10yr, 5yr undetermined, what? i don't wanna stock up if half will become a leaky mess before i get around to using them.

    Bad batteries

    Really bad batteries. I put them in my digital camera and it immediately showed a low-battery warning. I tried multiple batteries from the pack and got the same result every time. With some of them, the camera wouldn't even turn on. These batteries have no charge in them. A waste of money.

    Worst batteries ever!

    These batteries don’t last at all! I use them for my doorbell and I have to replace them every 2 days and that wasn’t the case before when I used a name brand. I just replaced them the day before yesterday and it’s marking low battery again. This keeps happening with these batteries. It’s so annoying and frustrating. Such a waste of money! Get name brand people. Target batteries don’t work!

    Do better Target

    This item does not come with an expiration date. I purchased this same item March 15, 2025 and 18 of them were dead. Contacting customer service was a waist of time. Where’s the quality control Target…..Do better!!!!

    two were already dead

    2 batteries were almost dead upon opening. I needed to replace the batteries in my carbon monoxide detector. The device kept low battery chirping after I put the new batteries in. I had to replace with a few from the package to find some that were properly charged. These were also in the new yellow and purple packaging, erroneously thought they would be better than the few left in the old packaging.
