Adaptive Backpack - Embark™️

This backpack is very good quality, much nicer than the similarly priced adaptive JanSport. Material is thick, padded throughout, lots of useful pockets, and works great on the back of my wheelchair. The clips on both the shoulder straps and wheelchair straps make it quick and easy to switch between and to remove it. The olive green is a very nice green.

I started out with the adaptive cat and jack backpack. I liked it but it didn’t feel as roomy as I wanted. Naturally, I went on a search.. So, I bought this one for my son who is gtube fed ( I put a carabiner in the snap to hook up the feeding bag inside of the back pocket) and also uses a wheelchair at school. He is medically complex and requires multiple supplies and changes of clothes during the day. Fortunately, this bag has worked perfectly! All the space and pockets to organize miscellaneous items has made it a perfect solution for us this year. I loved it so much, i purchased a back up bag incase of spills.

This backpack is great for my stepdad who is in a regular wheelchair. There are plenty of ways to attach the bag to the wheelchair all demonstrated on the included wheelchair. There are also holes in the backpack to run cords etc through so this would be great for someone on oxygen as well.

My husband uses it as a gym/work bag. He really likes it and loves how spacious it is. There’s so many compartments and makes packing super easy. We will probably use it during summer when we travel as well. It’s great how adaptive it is as well. We will even try to hang it from the stroller when we go out.

I love the color of this bag! It has pockets of different sizes to utilize for all of your personal needs. The straps are thick so you do not feel pressure in your back. I typically use this as my carryon for flights or overnight stays.

This backpack is perfect for our grade school student, it is spacious, durable, and has many pockets for storage! The zippers easily glide open, they have a tie on them for easier gripping as well. There are clips on the backpack for adapting to a wheelchair, which holds a very strong grip. The color is pleasing, and does not fade after washing. The handle is on there tightly, it is soft to hold, and strong enough for books etc in the bag. The side pockets are great for water bottles to fit securely. The front pocket has elastic inside of it to securely hold a laptop or papers, notebooks etc. There is a place to hold headphones, as well as a zippered pouch to hold loose pens, pencils, erasers and such. This backpack is also water resistent keeping things nice and dry, and no need to rush when in a wheelchair to get the backpack hidden when it is snowing or raining as it will keep things inside dry.

The Embark Adaptive Backpack is great. The size is perfect at 17” H X 13” wide. It seems very well made and durable. Either one of my sons can use it for school and we can use it when traveling as a family.

This adaptive backpack is absolutely perfect for my son's wheelchair. It's so amazing that Target is now offering adaptive products and clothing!! There's several deep compartments which can easily fit extra clothes for his therapies, laptop and basic necessities. It easily attaches to his wheelchair and comes with a simple instruction sheet. Great quality and I love the tuck-away backpack strap feature which helps prevent them for tangling or dragging.

This backpack is well built and has plenty of room to fit everything I need to put in it. I can put my Lap Top in it along with other items I need. I can put my water bottle on the side and some snacks in it a;so.

I went back and forth on whether an adaptive backpack was appropriate for me but I'm really glad I got it. I have some issues with fine motor skills and the large pulls allow you to just hook one finger around them. I really liked that the pulls are different colors which helps give me a mental shortcut for finding things and an easy way to communicate an item's location to someone trying to help me. The backpack sections open extra wide making it easy to get things in and out. The main section is just large enough to fit my folded down Hurry Cane-about 17 inches long at my height setting. Unfortunately, I do have to put my water bottle in that section as well because my 40-oz Thermoflask is just a little too large for the exterior bottle holders. A 22-oz travel cup fits fine and I expect standard disposable water bottles would as well. The fabric and construction seems to be of good quality with a heavier ballistic nylon type of fabric across the bottom. I expect to get a lot of use from this and it is much easier for me to get items in and out of than a standard backpack.

My parents use a wheelchair when visiting Dr office, or any event where walking is a challenge. I found this backpack to be extremely helpful because it gave me a safe secure place to keep both our personal belongings, my three-ring notebook (for Dr notes), keys, wallet, etc. This frees up my hands to steer the wheelchair wherever we need to go. I love the multiple storage areas which are just the right size for all our items. I love that I can switch from the handle straps to shoulder straps in just a couple of snaps. It's made of very good quality fabric and zippers. Price is very reasonable and it arrived right on time. I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend it.
