Q: Can the shade be removed/replaced with another standard lamp shade?

A: Hello - Thank you for your question. The shade can be replaced but not with any standard shade. The shade is secured by a threaded uno fitter. So, whatever shade you replace with should have a hole at the top of the shade about the same size as the one that exists on this product. Hope that helps! - Joe

The finish is uneven like they missed a spot with the paint sprayer. It’s on the back so likely not noticeable. There is a knot in the cord but assumed it’s intentional so the cord stays put. The shade dangles out of the top by the cord so if the knot wasn’t there it could pull out of place. It was easy to assemble. My 1 year old and I put it together in less than 20 minutes for some mommy daughter bonding. She put the screw in and Allen wrench and we tightened it. Just one nut on the bottom to secure it to the base. It comes with instructions as well. It’s looks a little cheap with the way the pole pieces screw into each other. Otherwise I like the look. However it’s pretty wobbly on carpet. I’m not sure if I’ll keep it since I have a toddler who could easily tip it over.

Love!! Directions are easy to follow resulting in the lamp being easy to assemble. The base is a good weight. The lamp is tall enough that it doesn't hang close to couch so you don't feel like you are sitting under a hair dryer in a salon. Highly recommend it!!

LOVE THIS LAMP!!! I can not believe all the reviews about the knot in the wire… It is supposed to be there. It’s called an underwriters knot 🤦♀️look it up. Took me maybe 15 minutes max to put it together. Not sure what all these other negative reviews are about… So simple. If you have common sense you will be fine!
