Near the end of most books that I love, I start to slow down, not being able to bear the thought of losing the characters and prose. Here, though, that very same thought hit me half way through the book. The book is very human, containing entertaining stories about the lengths to which some clients can drive us, while including stories on the people that enter our lives and make them colorful and worth living. Donna clearly has a true heart, a sharp wit, and an unending supply of ingentuity, creativity and entertaining genius. Reading this put a big smile on my face.

On rare occasions I come across a book that is so much fun and/or full of little surprises that I have to share it with others as I read it (in other words, make a nuisance of myself, but in a fun way). I'm sure my wife feels like she just read the book because about every other paragraph I had to run tell her what was happening. "You won't believe what just happened!!" Or "listen to what they did for this client". This book is great fun and I highly recommend it. My only complaint is that I couldn't actually be with the Gala Guru on her adventures. But reading about them is the next best thing.

This is an insightful and funny book that takes you into the world of party planning, from an experts point of view. Ms. Vessey has a way with words, whether she's talking about tent crews or a meddling mother. She describes these events with wit and wisdom. This book was hard to put down.
