bought this with the sweeper and man this little thing just works. I added a couple cinder blocks and strapped them down and went to town. It went together very easy and my zero turn takes it from there. My first year trying out the de thatcher. Im ready to overhaul the lawn. Next is aeration. Things can only get better.

Works really well. I am very impressed at how well, and how much thatch it removed. My only complaint would be the how the handle works to raise the tines when you want to move without them touching the ground. It needs to be stiffer. Maybe a pole type handle would be better that a thin strip of steel. Also, though I can pull the handle back a raise the times well off the ground, the handle falls back before resting against where it catches and this leaves the tines just barely above the ground. I’d feel more comfortable if I could get the handle to stay at the point where the tines are the highest point.
Does what it's supposed to do.

It works as expected. I'd like to see a different way to secure the blocks as the ratchet strap hooks I used got in the way and the blocks didn't sit flat. I wound up just going all the way around. I also put a thin piece of rubber under the blocks to keep the paint protected.

Performed exactly as expected, so no surprises. I had to get off occasionally to free the tines of thatch, as described by other reviewers. Well worth the money, considering how much it costs to rent one. Granted, it’s not a commercial unit, but it will pay for itself in a year or two.

I gave a 4 star because I used the Thatcher on 1acre of my yard and it wasn't proficient mind you this is the first Thatcher I have owned and wasn't thinking about putting weight on it .. so once I try again with weights I will change my rating... Thanks Vern

I needed to get rid of the thatch from my yard and did my research on it and decided to give the Agri Fab brand a try since it can be found in a lot of stores. Assembly was not that difficult and I would recommend buying some blocks to weigh it down. This will help increase your results. I would also suggest using this when the ground is a little softer and do sections maybe once or twice a year (preferably in the fall) as it will leave spots and it’s best to seed in the fall. If you have a decent sized yard, I would definitely add this to your lawn care arsenal.

I bought this about three months ago. It was very simple to assemble using the clear instructions. Then I used it and within a couple of days it transformed a wet, clogged, matted wildflower meadow into something that looked like sheep-grazed pasture, all ready for seeding.
Just used today for the first no weights attached.

Took up enough thatch on one pass across 8000 Sq.Ft. to fill up a 55 gal. trash bag. Using the self propelled mower and bagger as my sweeper. A word of caution and concern beware of sharp edges on the platform! They can scratch you pretty good! I'd suggest the vendor round off a few (4) corners of the top deck for safety in future builds. I used 4 rubber molding strips on each edge temporarily after the first mishap. I did at least a week of dethatching in 45 min. using this device. on a 8000 SQ. FT Lawn.

While putting it together I kept saying, there is no way this will work. Boy was I surprised, I have an acre that I had to thatch and it work great. The only thing I had an issue with, is the block slid off the end ( I have a very bumpy yard.My husband did fixed it by putting a metal plate on each end.

Took me a while to get through directions and putting parts all in order. Then started to assemble. Probably took more time than should have. But finished and started using. Tines are not the easiest to secure. A screwdriver didn't work for me. Ended up using a hammer and put a couple of towels under the base and able to secure tines. This is my first time using De-thatcher. So far it is going well.
Just like combing your yards hair.

Dispatcher worked great. Pulled a lot of the dead grass out as expected. Only concern is about putting two large cinderblocks on the detacher because of the size of the tines.
