My favorite shampoo of all time...I've been buying it for several years now. I even use if for my Border Collie and it leaves her coat soft and clean smelling. Haven't seen a flea in years!

This is the first shampoo I have found that seems to be both safe to use and can moisturize my hair in this dry mountain climate. Those reviews about Greasy hair are likely for more humid climates. Look at the ingredients: coconut oil and Shea butter.

I love this shampoo! However, I do shampoo my hair twice to make sure there isn’t product build up. I don’t like how my hair feels after one shampoo, plus I am tender headed if product is left in my head hurts. But then I follow with the conditioner and my hair feels amazing! I am happy I’ve found a product that’s more natural than most in the market— and a reasonable price!

I have mixed hair and would classify my curls as 3a/3b at any given time. This shampoo along with the coconut conditioner instantly made my hair super dry and fluffy -- two hours after washing and conditioning my hair looked frizzy. I followed with my usual leave in conditioner and got terrible results. I love what the brand does but maybe I picked the wrong product for me. This is an instant return.

I wanted to love these products SO bad but unfortunately it was the opposite. I paired the lavender ones together and it just made my hair feel like there was residue in it, somewhat STICKY! When I would brush my hair there would even be residue on my hair brush, so I tried rinsing longer in the shower, well I would rinse for at least 2 mins to make sure there was nothing left and my hair would still be frizzy and gross. And my hair would be greasy in 2 days. After switching to another natural shampoo and conditioner my hair feels normal again.

I bought this a month ago and have been using it since as my only shampoo. I wash my hair every day because of personal preference, though I’m aware it is not great for your hair as it will dry it out. I have been using this shampoo everyday for the past month on my extremely fine white girl straight hair and I experienced 0 build up and the softest, healthiest hair I have ever had. I believe some people may need to “detox” their hair from silicones and sulfates before trying to use these products. Many silicones in black targeted hair products are not water soluble and although leave hair soft and bouncy, leads to heavy build up that can only be removed using harsh cleansing shampoo. I do not believe this shampoo is meant as a deep cleanse, but rather a daily cleaner that cleans but does not strip hair. I’m in love and will try out some other products to see if they perform just as well!

I bought the lavender shampoo and conditioner and felt in love with this product. I have dry curly long hair and my hair feels so soft using this shampoo and conditioner. I ran out of body wash so I used the shampoo and to my surprise I felt in love with it again in another way. I went and bought this shampoo and conditioner for both bathrooms and extra shampoo for body wash. It smells so good and feels so good on the body. It's the best experience I have had with a shampoo and the conditioner I am very pleased with too.

I was looking for a product that was CGM and EWG approved (or close to it). I was very excited to find this one and it’s great ingredients. Sadly I hate it. It makes my hair feel horrible and I can’t run my hands through my hair after I use it because my hair literally just sticks to my head.

left a very waxy feeling when i washed it. I followed the directions to a T, and even used a clarifying shampoo the night before using this to give it a good go. Left my hair very limp and greasy. I'm giving it away in the hopes that it'll work for someone with a different hair type.

I have fine white girl hair and it brought it back to life! Let your hair get used it. It takes a few washes. I've used alaffia for 4 years. I wish they had eco friendly packaging!

I absolutely hated how this felt on my hair. It took ten pumps to actually get my entire scalp covered and my hair felt like I had just washed it with a bar of body soap. My hair was greasy the very next day and felt disgusting.

Excellent shampoo that's been great for my hair. I have finer textured hair that is currently bleached. I do wish it suds up more though, it takes some getting used to that it doesn't make as much suds as other shampoo brands. This does not affect how well it cleans at all it just is something to get used to.

I have very thick hair, and no matter how much I rinse, after using this shampoo the back of my head is left greasy and oily. Every single time. After using this product my hair is more difficult to manage, and hard to get a comb through. (I have been using the conditioner as well) not a good experience and I wouldn’t recommend. However I would like to acknowledge my scalp hasn’t been too itchy, and I do think the conditioner isn’t too bad. Shampoo experience has been very bad though.

I was initially worried about this product because it left my hair feeling greasy and coarse even after a few washes. My hair never got as greasy as it did when I started using this product but I did more research and found out that my hair was just adjusting to my switch to natural shampoos. This period can last for a couple of days or even months for some people but for me it last about two weeks. But it was worth the wait! My hair is super soft and silky and no longer looks or feels greasy. It is tempting to switch back but just give it some time the results are worth it. I recommend washing it in sections during the transition period to make sure all the excess grease is properly washed out --- and also because your hair might feel heavier than usual. Anyways I definitely recommend you just have to be patient for the best results! P.S. I have very long, very thick straight Mexican hair.

I bought this shampoo (and accompanying conditioner) after trying the Curly Girl Method, and I'm so glad I did! It lathers great, smells beautiful, cleans my scalp well. My curls are no longer dried and frizzy. I love this company, and everything it stands for, and I'm so happy to have found a shampoo that works for me!
