Q: Since I opened the package 3 weeks ago, it has a strong duck/gamey smell that won't dissipate. How can I get rid of the smell? I'm ready to return this duvet because of the smell.

A: Thank you for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear about the lingering odor you’re experiencing. Down comforters can occasionally have a natural scent due to the sterilized down fill, especially when first removed from their packaging. This usually fades with time, but we understand it can be unpleasant. To help eliminate the smell, we recommend placing the comforter in a large dryer on low heat with a few clean tennis balls or dryer balls for 30–45 minutes. Adding a fabric-safe dryer sheet can also help. Alternatively, letting it air out in a well-ventilated space or outside on a dry day can be effective. This is the second time we purchased a Downlite medium weight down comforter. First one lasted 20+ years. Love the new one. Warm in winter and not too hot in summer. Important features - even distribution of feathers throughout the comforter, piping along the edges, duvet tabs and cotton fabric. Downlite has been in business a while which means they can guarantee their product(s). Looking forward to 20 more years of sleeping comfort.

Did the research, bought the king oversized medium weight duvet insert. Everyone in my family now wants one. Luxurious. Maintains perfect body temp, no meed for additional blankets. I recently stayed at a Hyatt hotel,and that's when I fell in love with this comforter, front desk had no idea where they came from, so I did my own research, and so happy I did i think the price is very reasonable and the first night my husband and I slept so good, excellent purchase. My husband is soooooo happy, as I knew he would be. We were so pleased with the quality, I immediately came back and ordered pillows, another wise decision, I'll never purchase my bedding anywhere else. Customer for life!!!!
