About the Author

Nina Esperanza Serrianne holds an M.A. in History and Political Science and is currently pursuing her PhD in Public Policy at George Mason University. She has worked in the non-profit sector in both state-wide advocacy and direct services. Her research focuses include women and gender studies and American Government.
