The RRAV498 is a direct replacement for the original Yamaha RAV498 and works immediately with compatible Yamaha AV receivers without requiring programming. Though pre-programmed for Yamaha AV receivers, it can be configured to control other devices such as TVs, DVD players, and satellite receivers using the included manual. The RRAV498 controls Zone 1 functions on multi-zone receivers. It serves as a compatible substitute for the RAV290, handling primary receiver functions across supported models.
