    This remote & the earlier version dont last a year

    But the other reason of this and it stopped working before a year and this one also stopped working before a year. pieces of crap. Such a waste of money & unlike normal fashion Roku doesn’t help their customers out with resolutions other than saying, buy another one

    Such a disappointment

    My 1st generation Voice Pro remote was beginning to fail (after 2 years), so I ordered the 2nd generation model. When it arrived, I was struck by two things. First, it uses a different charge cord than the old one, and as always, I will have to buy a longer, more practical cord. But the most disturbing discovery was that there is no longer a headphone jack. Now I have to purchase wireless earbuds, for which I will have to buy ANOTHER adequately long charge cord, and then find another USB port to plug it into. I swear, what the actual heck is wrong with Roku? My latest Roku player is not nearly as good as the firat one I bought many years ago, and the accessories are becoming more and more useless. Oh yeah, and then there’s this. It would cost me more in money and time to return the remote than to buy wireless earbuds. Thanks for nothing, Roku.

    Remote stopped working after 2 months.

    The remote stopped working after 2 months. I plugged it in to USB-C and it started working. I found it to have 85% charge according to the Roku TV it is paired to. A day later it stopped working again. The light on the remote is lit as if a button is being pressed but no amount of plugging it in and unplugging it will make it work again.

    Shortest charge in history of electronics.

    The backlighting is nice, as well as the grip. But the charge is so bad. Of all the electronic devices I have had past and present this is by far the worst. I charged it for a full day and in a couple of hours it wasn't working anymore. Recharged it again for a whole day and same things. And because this doesn't take batteries, that is a big problem. Thankfully I still have my old remote.

    Died in just a few months

    Slow TV Control on LG and Samsung TV

    No batteries and back lit? What's not to love? Here is my list. It's slow to respond. More specifically, it's slow with power on and off and volume control of the tv. Both the LG and Samsung show the same issue, but the LG is worse. It doesn't matter if I set it infrared or led. It takes 5 to 10 seconds before the TV volume goes down or up. I still recommend based on the fact that the Samsung is acceptable speed-wise. Resetting the remote yields no speed increases LG 2019 55 inch 4k Roku Soundbar Pro with 4 speakers and subwoofer Samsung 2022 42 inch 4k 4660x Roku

    Remote is garbage that fails to work every day

    I really, really regret getting the Roku battery free remote. It is shoddy garbage. At least once per day it simply stops working. It’s fully charged but simply non-functional. The reset process rarely works. Often I just have to stop watching until the next day

    Voice control stopped functioning

    We bought this remote just over a year again, and after 2 months, both the hands free voice control and the microphone button stopped working. Wouldn't waste the extra money for the voice control feature. The back lit buttons are nice, but honestly would not spend the extra money again.

    Needs headphone jack

    I really appreciate the backlit feature for my bedroom tv, only wish you could include a headphone jack which would make it so much better for those of us in a shared bedroom. I’ll be using two different remotes. Also, hoping you can include numbers like my Xumo has for your next improvement. Overall, I love Roku and have been using since the beginning

    Worked great at first

    It has been working well no problem and then......lights out. I changed the batteries and it worked for about 3 days longer then lights out again. Expensive for no reason

Whether your remote has AAA batteries or a rechargeable remote, it sounds unusual for the batteries to last only 3 days. As a quick tip, you can reset the remote and repair it again. Resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again and utilize the voice command feature to see if this will make any difference. In the meantime, you may install the Roku mobile app as an alternative to your physical remote. This works well with your Roku streaming device, which has a voice command feature.     I was to replace my remote with an actual Roku brand remote, but they all have the same problem. Below the picture describing the buttons, "App shortcut buttons may vary" and the box picture shows four BLANK app shortcut buttons. So, basically Roku is saying, "Buy our products. Oh, by the way, we cannot tell you what you are going to actually get." So there are four buttons devoted to advertising that the customer may not use. :-(

    Great just drains battery pretty fast

    Love the remote I just wish there was a way to disable the backlight on the remote. It seems to help drain the battery. I don't need light in the daytime. The remote seems to last a month or 2 but I guess I can charge it while I'm sleep?

    At first I was excited by the light up buttons and its charging capabilities, I’ve not had this a year and now it won’t charge. It won’t turn on, turn off. Nothing just dead. I’ll go back to batteries and blindly clicking buttons in the dark.

    Frustrating

    Like the remote when it works. But most of the time I cannot get it to work. Fully charged with no backlight, also says the charge will last up to 3 months. Not correct. It is constantly losing connection with roku device. Have to reset so many times. The idea is great if it actually worked. I was so excited about this remote. :(

    Worked great then.... not so much

    I bought this version (Remote Pro 2) because it was advertised (at the time I bought it) as a motion-activated backlight. They said you could pick it up and it lights the buttons. It did that very well... until about 8 months into me having it. Now I actually have to press a button for the backlight to work. Kinda hard when the room is dark and I can't see what button I can press that won't disrupt the program. I notice they changed thair advertisements to say "touch-activated" now. That doen't work well in a dark room.

When working as intended, the buttons will light up automatically as the remote is picked up or moved, no need to press a button, which makes it easy to use in dark rooms! If that ever stops working as expected again, a quick reboot, re-pairing, or recharging of the remote usually does the trick, just as you experienced.     Second one I bought

    OK, it has no batteries; charge it overnight. I tried to pair it 10 times, reading every how-to comment, but neither will pair. But it works when it is in pairing mode, then it times out, and I have to be within 5' of the sound bar. OH, but everyone is an expert, noting I do work what garbage
