Q: is the roku stick compatible with an older samsung tv ? i see that you're supposed to connect the roku cord to hdmi and to another source but im not sure the tv has the other one.

  • A: Hello C, You do not need a Roku device for a Roku TV as it's the same operating system in both with marginal performance enhancements. This model does not come with the Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Gen) which has the back lit buttons but you can always purchase that remote separately and use it on any Roku TV. There are still benefits to having a Roku device such as; portability, turning non smart TVs into Roku Smart TVs or even other smart TVs into Roku TVs.

    Reset your device before you return it!

    I love Roku and it is always a great product. This one just I bought must have been a return, because all the apps are signed into somebody else’s accounts. All of them! Do yourself a favor, if you need to return a Roku, do a reset before you take it back. Or else someone can purchase it and have access to all your accounts.

    Something wrong

    I just bought the Roku Streaming remote. It changes channels, fast forwards shows but volume doesn’t work and power button doesn’t work. Still have to use the old tv remote for those functions.

    Great Interface, terrible Bluetooth!

    Bought this Roku Streaming Stick to replace an Apple TV box. We watch TV on our porch and rotate the TV 180 degrees to watch either at a table or sofa. The Apple box worked great and the Bluetooth worked flawlessly, but the Roku setup reduce cable clutter and made it easier to rotate the TV. Unfortunately, even though the Bluetooth amplifier is only 5 feet away from the Roku stick, the audio kept cutting in and out. Tried a different Bluetooth adapter, with same terrible results. If you need to use the Bluetooth capabilities, I would pass.

    Roku product a bust!

    Crazy that it didn't come with a charging cord or plug in charger. The good price just went away. Have to purchase cord and Plug in to charge. Waited too late to open to use to find the surprise that all items required to use are not included. And now the return period has expired. So I'm stuck with it. The questionnaire asked about value. How can it be a good value if parts aren't included for full use of product!!?
