Your island getaway has a wealth of natural resources that can be used to craft everything from tools to creature comforts. You can hunt down insects at the crack of dawn, decorate your paradise throughout the day, or enjoy sunset on the beach while fishing in the ocean. The time of day and season match real life, so each day on your island is a chance to check in and find new surprises all year round.
Show off your island utopia to family and friends—or pack your bags and visit theirs. Whether playing online* or with others beside you**, island living is even better when you can share it. Friendly faces like Tom Nook and Isabelle will lend their services and happily help you grow your budding community. Escape to your island getaway—however, whenever, and wherever you want.

I am so confused by the low reviews on this game. Do y'all not watch YouTube? All of your issues could've been solved in one video. I was never an AC fan up until New Horizons and a Pandemic happened. This game is not only perfect for a working person like myself but also great for children who have any other thing in life to do besides spend H O U R S behind a screen. You only need about two hours in the evening to get your game caught up and that's it because it has to reset itself overnight which I think is awesome because a lot of games these days will consume you and your children for hours and hours on end. I love that this is a wholesome game. I enjoy setting up my island, catching fish, planting flowers, and building things. It's a great escape at the end of the day.
to the parents complaining about only having one island to share with multiple children: what a great opportunity for you to teach them the importance of sharing, working together, patience, and boundaries. Don't miss it because you want them zoned out instead of present and learning.
Bought this game for kid to play 2-player co-op to build the island faster. Found out the that only the first or primary player on the island can do the missions. The second player is just there to collect things around the island and nothing more.
The Good: Literally everything except...
The Bad: This has sparked actual screaming *fights* in my household because of the one island per Switch deal. Sharing is not usually difficult for us and my family shares the Switch all the time with other games. Watching someone play when it's their turn is fun to do. But one person getting creative license over a single island per Switch and not per account? What did you think was going to happen, Nintendo? Peace? Do you all live alone or do you think we all are going to shell out a couple thousand just to keep fights from breaking out over a bridge being erected or a beloved/bemoaned villager being ousted/invited? The game is meant to be a relaxing escape and it is... until the Island Rep breaks out Lloid to build an expensive incline to a cliff that goes nowhere or thinks it'd be hilarious to send Sprinkle packing because she's the villager someone else likes best.
It's a 5 star game. It gets 3 for literally inciting days long fueds. Days. Fix the single island thing, even if it means buying another cartridge or memory card like we did to get around this in previous versions. People will throw $60 at you five times for each family member to have their own control of their own island on the same console if you'd just let them. We'll do it. We clearly love this game franchise.
Great addition to the franchise! I've been playing the games in the series for many years, and New Horizons does not disappoint. I love the new crafting features! The game does go at a slow pace, but that's the point of Animal Crossing. It's very relaxing and fun!
I ordered this online and got free two-day shipping! It arrived on time and I created my island on my Switch Lite. I have been playing for 4 days and I am absolutely obsessed with this game. Luckily, three of my real life best friends also play this game and have helped me progress quickly. I gave it 4 stars because I wish Nintendo would allow me to play on my same island on my Lite AND my regular Switch. At this time, I can only play on my Lite but would also enjoy playing on the TV with my regular Switch and I can't. Also, what happens if my Lite breaks? All of my hours I invested will be gone....
Yes, it did come in a little late, but Animal Crossing was well worth the wait. It’s so fun and relaxing, and I recommend it to anyone suffering with or without anxiety. It’s slowly becoming one of my longest played game.
You have to share the island with your other accounts on the switch. Including your inventory! The game is also boring and nothing to do besides catch critters and pickup fruits! This game goes by your time zone. The airport and other places close at night time! Which makes no sense. Because its night time doesn't mean you have to stop playing. I have been playing for 4 days now and theres no quests, nothing has unlocked. I'm just picking up fruits, wood and catching critters. Very boring!
