    Corporate greed ruins another product

    This has been our go-to Mac n cheese for a decade, due to the sharp white cheddar taste and better quality of ingredients. Finally finished off our older supply and opened a box of the “new” 2024 formulation. Imagine a bowl of gruel made by a disgruntled medieval peasant. Now imagine the disgruntled peasant spit in it, and then left it to ferment for several days, and it would still be more appealing and flavorful than this recipe. Baffled by how terrible it now is, I research online and log and behold find out that General Mills has removed all the butter and milk from the original recipe and added cornstarch, presumably as a cost saving measure. Good work removing the only two reasons - taste and ingredients - to ever purchase a significantly more expensive Annie’s product. Don’t worry - your costs will go way down when you run the company out of business!

    Directions result in overcooking (14-16min)

    The directions call for 14 to 16 minutes of cooking -- I tasted after 13 minutes and the noodles were already completely overcooked. I immediately strained and the noodles collapsed into mush.

    These are good if you can the cheese powder mixed in all the way.

    The cheese powder is very course and when you start to mix it into the wet noodles, it turned into a chunky glue, making it nearly impossible to mix in completely. It leaves big chunks of hard cheese powder in the end result. If I can get the cheese powder to mix in completely, then it tastes very good.

    It's oddly firm

    I don't know what's up with this particular pasta, but it can boil for 20 mins and still not be soft. I don't have this issue with any other Annie's pasta shapes.

    I like that these always kind of have a built in art project so every person can have a purpose and or participate and or contribute. I think this has to do with the feeding America commercials I keep viewing and hearing. Also, the product is versatile (difficult word) and I like this.
