New formula is not good, and it definitely doesn't taste cheesier. See the difference in the ingredients (new recipe on left, old recipe on right).

They removed nonfat milk and butter from the recipe and replaced it with cornstarch. It’s bad. Tastes like kraft.

So while I have not tried this new "now cheesier", I have some stuff to say. I don't think the company, Annies, really understands how much this simple box of mac and cheese was important to my childhood. While it may seem corny or dramatic, I have really sweet memories as a little girl, watching my mom make this for me and us eating it together. It was also the first thing I ever learned to 'cook'. I so sad to see they cheaped out and made a budget cut and disguised it as "cheesier". I will be sticking with the Super Mac and the Alfredo shells (please make the Alfredo one easier to find!) from now on. Please bring back the original and don't change anything about it. That said, if you want to add more cheese, actually add more cheese to the packet, don't change the ingredients or add less pasta.

    New recipe sucks

I just bought the last 5 boxes of Annie’s I’ll ever have unfortunately. I was Lucky there were any of the old recipe boxes on the shelf at all actually. The new “now cheesier” recipe just sucks. It is overpowering and took away the kind of sharper flavor of the cheddar and replaced it with some sort of disgusting overwhelming processed cheese flavor that tastes nothing like it did before. I hope to god they change it back, I’ve been eating it for 20 years and it’s a shame they had to go and ruin a good thing.

    So Disappointed!

This used to be one of my son’s favorites and now he won’t eat it, nor will I buy it any longer. The company replaced the real food ingredients like butter, with cornstarch and fake chemicals. Terrible flavor and texture now. So very disappointed in Annie’s. It’s also so insulting to customers to try to trick them (and flat out lie) with the “now cheesier” advertising when all they did was add some cheap fillers. See comparison photos for ingredients- old version on the left, super Mac in the middle, new “cheesier” version on the right. So sad. I would have happily paid the extra few cents to keep the old formula.

I rarely eat packaged foods but Annie’s Shells and white macaroni is one I’ve been eating since high school (20 years) since the kids I babysat introduced it to me. It was a fast comfort food I would eat occasionally. The new recipe tastes completely different and I did not enjoy it at all. I couldn’t finish it. I am very sad to see this staple be changed and it seems like I’m not the only one to feel this way. I’d love to see you bring it back.
