b850-a silver/white mobo looks sharp, plays hard
My kids and I are really enjoying building an updated Windows 11 computer. We're getting all white parts and this Asus rog strix b850-a was the mobo we chose to go along with white theme. It's our first time building a computer and it started on our first try. Resources, instructions, and parts are all robust and got us going. Seems like a quality durable product that will last, time will tell.

It's working great. I didn't need to tinker with the settings, so it worked right out of the box. Very happy with it. I wish the manual was a better, but it worked right out of the box.

Internet.
It works perfectly!! I had Asrock B650 RS Pro motherboard. And I noticed some power issues. Especially on the internet. I switched to ROG STRIX B850-A GAMING WIFi and I have no internet issues. A steady stream of download speed.

Bios and setting it up is pretty easy
The bios screen is design for beginners and experts i can locate most of the controls in the bios at ease. Drivers for this mobo are pretty easy to download aswell

I went from a X-99 to the 850, I plan to rebuild 2 more soon & I'll never buy anything but ASUS mobos. The 850 is visually stunning. It looks, feels, & operates like a boss!

Great motherboard. I had an MSI motherboard before that had issues all the time when running Windows updates that I decided to get a new one. There has been zero issues here. It also looks great!!

No wifi
I made a brand new win 11 build. For whatever reason the drivers would not unpack and were giving me an error message that the package is not for a win10 installation. I tried asus hub, armory crate, windows update nothing would install mobo wifi drivers. I wound up buying a separate WiFi card and installing it. I have WiFi now and will never buy another asus board.

Lacking features on both boards!
So this isn't a bad board, but for the price the little bit of overclocking it provides is laughable. Start looking into asynchronous clocking, this and it's x870 a gaming board do not have (i would've left a higher review for this b850 but I bought an x870 to learn it doesn't have an external clock generator) to then turn around and buy a 3rd motherboard, not in white ruining my whole build. I'm really not pleased for the price of this and the x870 to be left with crumbs. No white boards offer the external clock generator. Highly disappointed with asus this time around. Get this if you want a super duper overpriced BASIC white board and are not into overclocking. Simply paying a color tax on this, because the features aren't there for this or especially its x870 counterpart

Just installed my new motherboard and right off the bat it didn't work with the ddr5 that I have.. not sure why but I will keep trying to figure it out to give this new motherboard a chance to shine. If anyone knows a fix to the issues with vengeance ddr5 with this motherboard let me know. Thanks all.

Good motherboard
Overall, it's pretty good. There are only a few issues, but a big one is that the quick-release sometimes will not work, and it drives me insane. Especially when I replaced the 70ti with a 5080 from Zotac to test, the quick-release did not want the 5080 to leave my case (understandably), but it was the biggest pain to get out. If it weren't because everyone heard the snap and got scared that the 5080/MB was done, I would have given it a 4 or 5.
