At first my Mac Mini M1 did not seem to find the ZenDrive U9M or read my audio CD, but I had my CD in label down, like in my previous reader. I looked up the manual online, which said to put in CDs lable up. *Then* my Mac Mini found the ZenDrive and automatically opened the audio file! So Mac OS is compatable with ZenDrive after all.

Can play DVDs for my Mac mini.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Will at least play back DVDs on my Mac mini with Sonoma OS, but could be better. Seems like the driver needs updating for it to be 100% compatible with latest Sonoma 14. Haven’t tried recording a disc with it yet.
Read the Manual first, then no problem with Macs.

Yes, this model doesn't do BR, but it works! Thanks Asus for keeping the Mac user in mind, and enabling this to work with Apple Silicon. Woohoo!

When it worked, it worked well. Item has already stopped working in under one year. And as far as the website goes, I believe it is not returnable. I won't be buying another ASUS product. Don't buy this poorly made item.

The ZenDrive is thin & lightweight. It's also fast at copying. I haven't tried burning a disc yet but I imagine it will be fast at that, too.

I purchased this external optical drive because my case doesnt have a spot for an optical drive. Its super great to use to watch movies with and its so light and thin. I really like how simple it is to hook up and operate. Just plug in the provided usb cable and the drive powers on then just press the button to open it and push the drawer back in to close it.
