I really took a gamble on Athlon by purchasing a spotting scope and being too familiar with their products. And I must say I couldn’t be more pleased with the Ares G2 UHD 20-60x85. I’ve been using this scope for the last couple months for the range, scouting deer, backcountry elk trips in Colorado. It’s heavy but that was expected I didn’t expect to be glassing mountains at good distances and seeing squirrels and birds with ease. I would recommend the Ares G2 UHD 20-60x85 that is not planning on hiking 9-12 miles daily up a mountain but compromise and get a slightly smaller one. But either way it’s a great product so far!

Used this scope to zero a 338 Lapua and it worked flawlessly while reading winds and trace in 95 degree weather conditions and 90+% humidity. I recommend this scope for all long range targeting. It was paired with a scope tripod which worked very well.
