Q: Which valve does it work on low or high?
submitted by Spk - 6 years ago
A: You must hook the end up on the low pressure port .
submitted byaftermath2976 - 6 years agoA: It’s only compatible with the low pressure port. Can’t make any mistake because the hose can only connect to the low end.

I received a faulty unit, and found out this is very common.
Got a faulty can, and from what I have been reading this is common from this manufacturer. I'd suggest getting a different brand. As soon as I hooked it up to my car and began the process, I noticed that the nozzle area at the top, near the spray button starts leaking out causing the refrigerant to spray out of the top of the can and onto my hand (as opposed to through the hose like it's supposed to) whenever I tried to recharge. Target should find another brand of AC recharge cans.

Would not attach to port
Did not work at all. Should have listened to the bad reviews. It would not connect properly to the low pressure port and therefore wouldn’t flow from the can at all.

Easy to use, works well
Used this on my 2014 Forester. Now is blows cold as soon as AC is turned on vs. intermittently or very slow to cool down. We'll see how long this lasts. Next time I'll get one with UV light leak detector.

Does exactly what is says
Worked perfectly fine on my 2011 BMW e92 328i M Sport. Not to bash any other reviews but only suggestions I’d give is firstly insure the r134a grade is indeed compatible with your make and model, secondly, be sure to locate your “low pressure” port (all vehicles have a low pressure and high pressure service port), most obviously, simply read the canister instructions before you start and you’ll be fine. Lastly, make sure your connection to the low pressure port is snug and doesn’t move when you pull on the hose without engaging the release mechanism to avoid leaks and be patient cause I’ll take a minimum of 20mins. TIP: press the trigger for 10secs then rock the canister back and forth for 10secs and repeat for best and quickest results.

Don't buy it!
Horrible leaks from both ends would not attach correctly now port leaks because I didn’t realize the hose piece was misshapen.

Ignore the bad reviews and use some sense
The bad reviews here are ridiculous. I am not a mechanic, but I have the internet and some basic sense, and was able to figure it out. I used this in an F-250 7.3 diesel, and found that the can instructions were more than adequate once I located the correct port to plug into. Make sure your system is on, otherwise the gauge will show that the cooling system is overcharged…the can tells you all of this. Again, the other reviews noting that the refrigerant doesn’t flow clearly didn’t follow the (fairly straightforward) instructions on the can. If for whatever reason you find that the instructions on the can are confusing, the internet is a remarkable place (that we’ve had at our fingertips for a good number of years now). There are countless videos available to watch, including step by step, specific instructions for whatever vehicle you’re looking to recharge. For the bad reviews stating that it doesn’t work for certain vehicles…maybe google compatibility before spending almost $40 on a can of refrigerant?

Worthless
Followed the directions, but refrigerant wouldn't flow. Good reasons for the poor reviews.

It works but apparently Target doesn’t refund the $10 core deposit... which is weird cuz they are required to. The valve does break off easily but if you can manage to charge your AC, it will work.

Works great on my 328i
Worked as intended on my 2010 328i. Turns out I did not need that much to get my a/c as cold as it used to be. I saw a review talking about how the bottle itself is cheap, why focus on the bottle and not on what it does RIGHT. This product works just as good as any other brand. And for cheaper!

I gave it 3 stars because the cord should be much longer. My low pressure thing was hard to reach and then to have such a short cord was hard. I prefer the other brand I always get but they were sold out

Low quality product
Don't bother. The valve connecting to the low pressure port had a bad seal. Most of the refrigerant sprayed into the engine compartment. The gauge seemed to register pressure, then completely drop. It seemed poorly made, with cheap plastic, so I'm sure this wasn't a one-off.
Save your money and ask for a recommendation at an auto parts store.

Ended up returning it because I didn’t realize that it was for a specific pump. There are low and high valves and this product only goes to one

It's okay, but not great.
First and foremost, make sure you wear eye protection and gloves when using this product! This is not stuff you want to avoid safety on!
As far as the product goes, this stuff is kinda meh. It will (mostly) get the job done, but it's a bit of a pain. The hose is pretty short, and I'm not sure that I fully trust the gauge. It caused a bunch of existing freon to shoot out of the valve when connecting it. When I turned the can, the connections kept loosening, so it leaked from the can. Enough leaking that one bottle didn't finish my car. Next time I'll likely spend a few more bucks and buy a different brand
