Q: What aisle in a target store can I find this in because I was in target and I couldnt find it

submitted by Amy - 6 years ago
  • A: Hello! It is best to ask a Target store associate as product location can vary.

  • A: I have looked for it in different stores and never found it, it´s better to shop it online.

submitted byAna - 6 years ago
  • A: I found it in the beauty section. There are rows of sheet masks and "frilly" colorful looking face masks and eventually I saw a row of cleaner looking products that looked like you'd find em at a dermatologist office and that's where the clay mask was.

Q: How can I achieve the smooth mixture? I’ve steered and steered but can’t seem to dissolve away the clumps

submitted by Mixture Recommendation - 11 months ago
  • A: I add a small amount of water and make a paste, and then thin it out. Hope that helps :)

submitted byDawn - 10 months ago
  • A: You can mix the clay with either water or 100% apple cider vinegar to create the mask, but most users prefer using ACV. The combination of the clay and the vinegar creates a more even, clump-free paste than water makes

Q: Can I use this one to make homemade toothpaste?

submitted by Screen name - 1 year ago
  • A: I would recommend getting “food grade” clay, than you can use it for every thing

submitted byDawn - 10 months ago
  • A: No, we cannot make homemade toothpaste.

Q: Does it help aged skin with winkles?

submitted by Ann - 5 years ago
  • A: Generally, clay is used for absorbing excess oils so, no, I wouldn't think that would do anything for wrinkles.

    submitted bygerg78 - 5 years ago
  • A: There are many uses for clays including facials, acne, body wraps, clay baths, foot soaks, as well as chilled clay for knee packs and insect bites. Enjoy the benefits of clay in your own home.

Q: Does this clay expire?

submitted by Ariel - 6 months ago
  • A: Here's what you need to know: No official expiration date: Most jars don't list an expiration date because the clay, in its dry powdered form, can last for a very long time — often indefinitely. Storage matters: As long as the clay is kept dry and sealed tightly, away from moisture and contaminants, it should remain effective. Check for signs of spoilage: If moisture got into the container, and it smells off or has visible mold, it's best to toss it. If the texture has changed significantly (clumping, hard chunks that don’t break up), it may have absorbed moisture and might not work as well. So if your jar looks and smells fine, and the clay is still dry, you're good to go!

Q: What would be better, Double cleansing, this, or both?

submitted by Emma - 9 months ago
  • A: Double cleanse daily to remove makeup, sunscreen, and impurities, keeping your skin prepped for other products. Use the Aztec Healing Clay 1–2 times weekly for deep pore detox, oil control, and breakout prevention. If you combine both, avoid using them on the same day to prevent over-cleansing or irritation. Hydrate well after the clay mask, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. Tailor the frequency based on your skin type—more often for oily skin, less for dry or sensitive skin. Both together can help maintain clean, healthy skin!

Q: Can a twelve year old girl use this product? Also, does this cause a rash on your face?

submitted by Emma - 9 months ago
  • A: Yes, a 12-year-old can use the Aztec Healing Clay, but it’s important to be cautious. Mix it with water (not apple cider vinegar) for gentler use and start with short application times (5–7 minutes). Use it no more than once a week and always perform a patch test to check for sensitivity. Temporary redness is normal, but if a rash or prolonged irritation occurs, stop using it and apply a soothing moisturizer. Consult a dermatologist if needed.

Q: Is this safe my dog? I heard from a vet that bentonite clay super diluted is good for her skin issues.

submitted by Me - 10 months ago
  • A: Bentonite clay, when used correctly, can be beneficial for dogs, especially for addressing skin issues. However, there are some important considerations to ensure it's safe and effective: 1. Purity and Safety The product you mentioned, Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, is a natural calcium bentonite clay. It is generally considered safe for external use on pets, as long as it’s 100% pure with no added fragrances, essential oils, or other chemicals. Verify the product label to ensure it contains only bentonite clay and no additives. 2. Application Guidelines Dilution: Mix the clay with water to create a very thin paste (super diluted, as your vet mentioned). Ensure it’s smooth and free of lumps. Spot Test: Apply a small amount to a small area of your dog’s skin to ensure they do not have an allergic reaction. Wait 24 hours before wider application. Avoid Sensitive Areas: Do not apply near the eyes, mouth, or any open wounds. 3. Internal Use Unless explicitly directed by a veterinarian, do not give bentonite clay internally to your dog. Internal use requires veterinary supervision to ensure proper dosage and safety. 4. Rinsing Off After the clay dries (but before it cracks), gently rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do not leave it on for too long as it can dry out the skin. 5. Consult Your Vet Before using any new treatment, it’s always a good idea to double-check with your vet, especially since they are familiar with your dog’s medical history. Final Note While bentonite clay can help with skin irritations, itching, or hot spots, the underlying cause of your dog’s skin issues should be addressed. Common causes include allergies, infections, or parasites, and these might require additional treatment.

Q: Is this Edible? Ii would imagine so if it is pure

submitted by Amanda wind - 1 year ago
  • A: While we don't consume it regularly, our family has used it for years for tummy/digestive issues (kinda like popping those chalky tablets). I keep a slurry in the fridge and stir it with a glass of water when the need arises. We have experienced no negative effects.

    So far, so good.

I have been using this for detox baths, and it seems to be helping. I have also used with toddler with no issues to calm diaper rash. Toddler loves that it makes the water look “gross” and unable to see their toes due to the cloudiness of mixing it with bath water. I look forward to trying a face mask with it. Also, I think this container will last a long time. A little goes a long way.

    Ripped seal and crumbled cloths

I am really disappointed.. the seal was ripped open with the clay all over the other package items (baby cloths).. I am returning it off course.. Not to mention that all the cloths were crumbled together inside the tiny box..

Excellent deep clean: over 50, oily/combo skin

I’m in my late 50’s & started using this a few years ago after looking for something effective that also would reduce wasteful packaging. I wish I’d known about it when I was younger and dealt with constant acne! What I love: This WORKS. It unclogs and loosens debris in pores. My skin feels visibly smoother afterwards. I have large, “sticky” pores so my skin truly needs some help purging. How I use it: I mix small amounts of the powder and water until I have the right consistency. I use a clean hair color application brush, but a softer brush used in facials and for makeup would be better. What could be improved: It is difficult to mix it in a way to get rid of the lumps in the mixture. I’ve found that starting out with a teaspoon or tablespoon of powder, the gradually adding water, stirring in between, works best. You don’t need a thick coating to get results. The thicker the coat, the tighter and itchier it will feel as it dries. When I’ve been sweating outdoors a lot, or after a few days of camping, this is my go-to for resetting my skin. I would NOT use this before being in the elements because it is such a deep clean. Be aware: This is an intense mask. My skin can be sensitive and red, so I only use it a few times per month as a regular routine. I will occasionally use it when my skin feels extra oily, clogged or needing exfoliation. Ideally I would follow the mask with a face oil or product that soothes treated skin. I haven’t found a dupe for the very expensive Drunk Elephant oil I used in the past. I use it on my face and occasionally on my neck and décolleté. I would NOT recommend for people with dry or exceptionally sensitive skin unless you are using it just occasionally.

This product felt so amazing! I wasn't expecting it to be power but it's super easy to turn into clay and is easy to clean up. I could really feel my skin tightening and afterwards it had brought up a lot of gunk from my pores. This morning my skin felt so soft and was so glowy! Will be purchasing again when I run out.

    A great face mask

I loved this mask, but I didn't see much of a difference, I have sensitive skin, so I started with just water mixed in and a little bit of time, next time, I'm going to do more time, but I definitely felt the oil and impurity's coming out of my skin. It's a great mask!

    My go to mask

This has been my go-to mask for the last like 5 years. I do it once a month maybe for a deep clean or when my skin is starting to break out. I use it with apple cider vinegar. You can feel your skin pulsating which is my favorite part. It will leave you looking like you got a sunburn for like 20 mins after. I'd moisturize after but trust it is worth a try.

Seems like a good product but it didn't work in addressing my oil and acne skin issues

I bought this product about a year and a half ago with the hope that it would help reduce the oil and acne on my skin. I found that it did help soften my skin around when I first started using it because of the exfoliating effect of the mask. However, it did not help me personally with reducing oil or acne (and nowadays it doesn't really help in terms of softening my skin either because my skin is already in a soft state thanks to other products). Nevertheless, there are different ways you can use this product and I only tried one way (combining 1/2 tbsp of the powder with apple cider vinegar to use as a face mask) -- I could have tried different ratios or using it on other parts of my body. I am willing to try this product again, perhaps for a different use, but given that the way I used it didn't help with what I was trying to address, I'm holding off on repurchasing for now, especially because it does take at least a little effort to make the mask and wash it off (and can get messy sometimes) so it doesn't seem worth it to keep using it for now. That being said, a major plus of this product is that it is economical and sustainable in that one tub lasts a while (it lasted me over 1.5 years using it about once a week). I think this product is worth a try for those considering purchasing it for the first time.
