Nothing grew at all. I purchased a pink oyster kit along with this one and they grew just fine. But this one, nothing happened.

Over priced for the high risk of failure...
Not very good results for us. I believe it’s because we heat our home with a wood stove and it was just too dry. Once I realized the issue I put the humidifier by it but it was no help. The mushrooms that did grow large enough to eat were very woody and difficult to chew. Great concept but I feel it’s over priced for the risk factor.

Grows so fast!
This was so incredibly easy and we got a ton of growth in just a few days. I don’t even eat mushrooms! Lol. I’ll have to gift these to family members. I just wanted a fun activity and this was very rewarding.

Scrape Lightly During Prep
Growing is pretty easy. But be careful to scrape surface LIGHTLY (so you will have more mushrooms). I scraped too vigorously during prep phase. Patience is key too!

Don't Bother
Mushrooms had already been growing by the time we opened the box. The bag somehow colonized in a dry cabinet. It would be a lot better to colonize brown rice and make a coco-coir substrate yourself. Oyster spores are cheap and easy to find online.

Good as an expensive novelty gift
We carefully tended our growing mushrooms, but when they did eventually show signs of life, they began shrinking almost immediately. We ended up with lots of little mushrooms and maybe five larger ones - all tough and virtually inedible. I expected more from the product, especially considering all the trouble I had redeeming this company's Target-only coupon deal.

Waste of Money
I followed directions, but my mushrooms did not grow large at all, and eventually the substrate started to mold. Fun idea, but not worth it.

We were able to follow the instructions and after seeing them grown i was even able to get my picky eater to try some of them in two different meals. The kit came with everything that you need and I was even able to use it a second harvest.
