A: This can be used in water play, but we don't suggest more than a few hours at a time. We also suggest you drain, rinse, clean and dry all items thoroughly before storing.

Definitely not water proof. The lights don't last long. The first one I got was broken from the start and I returned it. The second one stopped working a few times of water play. It's a cute doll which is why this isn't a 1 star.

This is a great present for children. My daughter loves to take it to the pool and play in the bath. I was worried (due to the battery) that it wasn’t water friendly, but it is. Pretty colors, and the hair is easy to braid and brush. Which is important for you littles!

My 4 year old LOVES this mermaid doll, but she has the hardest time getting the button to push. I think it has to do with the waterproofing, as I returned one to Mattel and ordered a replacement and it was just as hard.

2 stars because the lights last a long time and the Barbie is beautiful. However, she got moldy. We followed care instructions. I have been emailing Mattel and they are horrible to work with. They will not just answer me when I ask what else I can do to prevent mold and if I ended up with a dud Barbie and if it likely to happen again.
