The lamp is fine but the 60 watt limit is not adequate to read by. I called before purchasing and was told it would be bright enough.

This is a very high quality lamp, I love the full-range dimmer feature directly on the base plate of the lamp. We had an electrician hard wire these lamps so there is no visible cord. Both lamps were extremely well packed and protected from damage.
