Barney Sensory Plush Stuffed Doll

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is cute. Really looks like how I remember the character from forever ago. Super soft and vibrant colors. Keeps my son's attention for sure. Perfect size too. Not too small, but not overly bulky for little ones to tote around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was played with by my grandaughter during Christmas. She loved the feel of the different sensory areas that are on the doll. She especially liked the "pop-it" heart that hangs around Barney's neck. However, at her age (almost 2), she struggled with some of the other areas that are on the toys feet and hands. The doll is very soft and plush, which she loved because she LOVES her soft toys and blankets, so that was a definite plus.

We watch the episodes and she knows several songs (so he is a recognized character for her) However, when this was first given to her she called him a frog. I think it’s due to his eye placement and face shape. We told her it was Barney and she giggled and said ‘oh, I thought he was froggy’ but then started calling him Barney. One of the Features we like include his textures. His paw pads are smooth and silky, his feet pads are basic cloth but have texture sewn into them, his purple coloring is fuzzy and soft, he has green spots on his back that have a surface like felt and his belly is almost a corduroy texture. My 2 year old likes to ‘scratch’ the different surfaces. He also comes with a high quality’pop it’ permanently attached to his hand. A lot of pop it’s will tear in the circles when repeatedly popped but this one is thick and has stood the test of time so far. Good for sensory seeking toddlers

This is good toy if you don't mind your kid to get attached to Barney. He loves to sleep with it and keeps him happy in the car. It beats giving your kid a phone.

It has a super soft and snuggley body along with textured eyes, feet, hands, eyse, stomach, and spots on his back. It has 6 vibrant colors and makes a perfect companion any time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Barney the plush doll. It was all ready just to pull out of box. Nothing complicated. Had to use scissors to cut the ties off. The Barney doll did not keep my child’s attention at all. She looked at and touched everything on it and sat it down and did not pick it back up. It does not make sounds or sing. She did not like it.

The material is very soft and there is a fun bubble-popper tactile accessory that is attached to one of Barney’s hands. My son loves sleeping with his Barney and it gives him comfort. It’s become his new lovey!

There are multiple textures for feeling, as well as an attached pop toy to work on fine motor skills and sensory engagement. The toy is lightweight and easy to pick up and carry, and overall is very soft to the touch.

It’s a nice toy, but aside from popper attached to Barney, I don’t really see anything too different from other toys. Barney is very soft and there are ridges on his belly. He has a spiral with a star and heart on his foot that is meant to be traced, and his hands feel silky. However, when I tried to get my younger son to touch the toy and trace the spiral in order to calm down, it didn’t work for him. Instead, I think this is a fun plushy toy for kids that like plushies or who enjoy Barney, rather than a sensory toy. Also, my son thought that Barney should sing a song or say something when his foot is pressed, but nothing happens.

He was an iconic part of my childhood, and it brings my heart so much joy seeing my children hug a Barney plush like I did. With that said, this is an upgraded plush though! The plush is superrrrr soft, which I was pleasantly surprised by. It’s very light too, which works well for tiny hands. The quality of stitching is superior. The heart shaped pop toy was a fun addition and has been used constantly. It’s rated for 2+, but my 14 month old can’t keep her hands off it. Luckily my 3.5 year old doesn’t mind sharing. Overall it’s a sweet, soft, quality toy that we’re enjoying!

Barney is a good size for snuggling at nap time. I was surprised that this toy doesn’t make noise which makes it great for nap time at daycare and taking to church. If your looking for a quiet toy that is a stuffed animal this one may be the right one for you.

The attached poppet toy was a highlight of his experience. The Barney's is so soft and cuddly. My two-year-old has even slept with him. My two year old played with him during the day and at nap times. Children can explore various textures and engage in a tracing activity with Barney's feet. I don’t think they’re anything we did not like about this toy.

She loved squeezing him and found him to be very huggable. She liked the popper element. She enjoys popping them over and over again. She also likes the texture on his feet. She seems to find it soothing to trace with her fingers.

We used Barney at our home in everyday play with other plushys and dolls. Age recommended for product is age 2+ but our children ages 1-10 all have been playing with Barney and they love adding him to the collection of others. Barney can sit alone, great for cuddles when sad or ill. Pop it is very durable with 3 bubbles to pop from either direction. Pop it is heavy but deft built to last. Highly recommended for kids of all ages.
