Belkin HDMI to VGA Adapter with Micro-USB Power AV10170BT

These adapters are great for connecting older VGA only monitors with newer computers that only have HDMI ports. These adapters works great right out of the box. They have extended the life to my old VGA monitors, allowing me to add an extra monitor to my laptop and desktop that have no VGA ports.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With theaters shut down this past year, I wanted to get the theater screen feel at home. I had an older projector that only had a VGA connection. I wanted to connect my Roku so that I could stream and use the projector to give me that theater feel when watching movies. This simple adapter made that possible. The HDMI connection on the adapter attached to my Roku, then I used one of my old VGA cables to attach the other end of the adapter to the projector. The adapter also has an RCA jack to connect audio to the projector if so desired. I connected the optical from my Roku to my surround sound, so I did not need to use it. Also, if you are utilizing a low voltage HDMI source, adapter has a micro USB connection to give that extra power if needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to use this to connect my laptop to my computer monitor. It was easy to use and I like that I was able to use both monitors at the same time. This even came in handy when I connected a laptop with a non working screen to my monitor.

School age kids needed something to play those pixelated games I did not want to buy another computer so this saved the day. I was even able to plug the speakers into this and they work flawlessly. I have not used the charging feature nor do I intend to so I cannot speak to that. However, this is literally plug and play and saved me hundreds with not having to buy new equipment. Plus I was able to pump life back into aging technology. Kids are thrilled also so great investment. Dropped one star because VGA screws were a little difficult to seat. Your experience may vary.
