Q: Is this gluten-free? The symbol on the Target website says yes, but I see there is barley malt in the ingredients. Thank you!

When this first came out I couldn't wait to get my hands on some but when I finally found it, I did not like it. So today I thought I would just check it out again and am so glad I did. I can't find where the recipe changed at all but for some reason I find this to be a great dairy free option! Maybe I got a bad batch on the first go around!

I've always stuck to my tried and true favorites, but I recently branched out and tried this for the first time, not knowing what to expect. What exactly was Phish Food? I still don't know, but I LOVE IT! Maybe it's the chocolate base that "hides" the almond flavor more easily than vanilla flavors? It's now my new favorite. I've sort of grown accustomed to dairy-free ice creams not tasting as good as regular ice cream, but this tastes just as good! I can eat this and not even realize it's dairy free. It's a miracle. Plus it has a nice mix of textures with the marshmallow and added crunch of the chocolate fish. I'm going to stock my freezer with this from now on and I hope they never discontinue it.
THIS IS SOOO GOOD!

This is the only phish I'll ever put in my mouth! I love Ben&Jerry's ice cream and brand for so many reasons but offering dairy free desserts tops the list! I love chunks in my ice cream and this one offers a few different chunks/flavorings. My favorite part is the chocolate phish. Mmm!
Favorite...and a an old favorite

This is my favorite B&J's nondairy dessert. I used to love the From Russia with Buzz (I believe that was the name, it was YEARS ago lol.) When making more nondairy flavors that would be a great one to add!!
Great flavor!

Maybe the dairy one is better but this is just average. No actual flavor just tasting sugar. Go with Dirt Cake instead
So good

I used to love non-dairy Phish food more than anything else in this world, but it seems that they changed the recipe. It’s still good, like any Ben & Jerry’s pint, but a horrifying disappointment compared the previous divine recipe. Ben and Jerry - if you’re listening, please bring back the old Phish food recipe!
Cant believe they call this trash Phish Food

I’m convinced the rest of these 5 star reviews are fake, because this non-dairy version of Phish food is terrible. Maybe it would be better if it had a different milk, like coconut or cashew. But I’ve never had to throw away a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, but this was inedible. Don’t be fooled by the other reviews.

I have had a lot of non-dairy and vegan ice cream in the past few years. B&j’s attempt is pretty good as it’s meant to be phish food! There’s just Something lacking here without the milk fats to balance out the sugar, which I think is a strong part of the yum factor of this flavor. It just tastes intensely sugary to me, instead of decadent chocolate land. I prefer vegan ice creams that are meant to taste good in their own right rather than be a copy of dairy ice cream- HOWEVER if you are really craving a particular type of Ben and Jerry’s, go ahead and reach for the non-dairy version. It isn’t bad, I’ve just had better vegan ice cream and the original is obviously better as well. It didn’t do it for me so 4 stars but I appreciate it existing !

This is one of the few flavors that my husband who has celiac and is lactose intolerant can’t have. He used to be able to have the Karmel Sutra but can never find it anymore. Target is the only place we can find this Phish Food as well. I’ve tasted it before and you really can’t tell much of a difference between the dairy free version and the original which is pretty impressive.

Their chocolate based flavors don't seem to be "there" yet. This was pretty gross and I threw it away. I've been vegan almost 10 years and love vegan ice cream, but this flavor just isn't good.

Not fish food! Sadly this is the worst non-dairy version of a beloved masterpiece. Should have given it a different name rather than ruin the reputation of the original. It’s absolutely gross! My family absolutely loves Ben & Jerry’s. We almost always buy 10-12 pints at a time. This is the first time I’ve ever been embarrassed by one of their products.
