Summary of reviews
The oatmeal has garnered mixed feedback from guests, with many praising its taste, texture, and convenience. However, recent changes in the recipe have led to dissatisfaction, particularly regarding the introduction of protein pellets and alterations in flavor. Guests appreciate the ease of preparation and the health benefits of added ingredients like flax seeds, but some express a desire for the original recipe to return. Overall, it remains a popular choice for a quick and nutritious breakfast option.

Why did you change this? We have eaten and loved this product for years. These new pellets are horrible. Will not be buying again unless you bring back the old oats.

I purchased a few boxes of the Maple and Brown Sugar, quick cooking oatmeal with flax seeds in March 2024 and loved it; I add walnuts to mine. I recently bought two more boxes and from the looks of the four pouches I have opened, the oats have either been left out or crushed into unrecognizable particles.

I've loved these oats for years. I bought a box for home. I opened it to find odd spongey pellets. I ate one and it was disgusting. I opened another package to see if it was a fluke. That one had it too. I have some older packages at work and opened one and it's normal. What the heck are these disgusting pellets. I'm not eating this.

Have been eating this product for years and loved it. Recently went back to the store and bought two new boxes and this morning opened the packet to find some strange pellet looking things inside. Tried it and it was HORRIBLE!! I want the old version back ASAP!! This stuff is so gross that I'm throwing out both of the boxes I bought.

This is my favorite breakfast. I add blueberries and walnuts. Lately I haven't been able to find any on shelves at the grocery stores. What's going on with this???

I love the regular steel cut oats in this brand so I thought I would try this one, big mistake. It has a really weird flavor and almost tastes fake. I couldn’t even eat it. I will go back to the original and add a little brown sugar lol.
Not a better choice

I should have stuck with Quaker Instant Oatmeal. I followed the directions and it's so soupy and flavor less. The oats are tiny and gritty no matter how long they soak. A complete waste of money.

I make it as directed on the box, add chia seeds and then once it’s cooked I add a splash of milk for creaminess and it’s a great breakfast option when I’m short on time.

I totally agree with a recent review posted here. It is: I've been buying this cereal for years and love it. But today I poured the cereal into the bowl and there are strange pellets about 3mm wide and when cooked, the flavor is terrible. Whatever product change you made, for whatever reason, made this good product disgusting. I will never buy it again unless the recipe goes back to normal.
The BEST instant oatmeal I've ever tried!!

This is the BEST instant oatmeal I have ever eaten! It’s the texture and consistency of real cooked oatmeal. The amount of sweetness is just right, not too sweet and the added maple flavor isn’t too strong or overwhelming. It’s very mild which I love. I didn’t have to add anything to it but water. I added a little fat free milk out of habit after it was cooked but I don’t think it even needs it. It’s creamy right out of the microwave. I won’t ever buy any other type of instant oatmeal, I can’t imagine any that could be better than this.

I add coconut milk, blueberries and shaved almonds. It is so creamy and quick to make. I've noticed my complexion, digestion and hopefully my cholesterol levels improve (blood work next month). Also no mess cooking. Super yummy!
