Q: I bought this record and the glow in the dark’s cool, but the record itself skips at least 10 lyrics every 3 seconds. I cleaned it to make sure it wasn’t dirty, but it’s just the record. It’s not even my player

A: try placing a penny or two on the arm so the needle can reach into the deeper grooves of the vinyl so it doesnt skip multiple grooves. i had the same issue
submitted byjasmine - 5 years agoA: the reason why your vinyl is skippin because you own one of the suitcase or all in one record players and their needles and counterweight is too heavy. if you get an Audio Technica LP60X it won't skip
submitted byLauralu - 2 years agoA: The record has a lot of bass and is at least 100x more likely to skip than any other record. If you have a suitcase style turntable, your issue most likely is the fact that your record player is lightweight, meaning the bass from the record is causing the needle to jump out of the groove and skip. For a temporary solution, a penny on the stylus should fix it. If you don't have a suitcase style record player, check that your anti-skate and counterweight are setup right. If you don't have those, then thats probably your issue. If you're still experiencing skipping, you may have gotten a bad press. Hope this helps!

Q: I have the previous version of this vinyl. *THE VINYL IS FINE* it’s got deeper ridges in it for the bass that the needle can’t reach on the cheaper record players. If you have a good quality player there is no issue.

A: Agreed. No issues with my record player. Some skips caused by poor quality control that were handled by a good cleaning.

Q: How good is the glow in dark? I've had GOTD records before that don't glow at all. Don't want to waste my money if it's the case with this pressing as well.

A: it is awesome. if you didn’t know to activate the glow in the dark, you put a source of light like a flashlight on it and for a few seconds like 5-9 seconds, it glows green

Phenomenal album! The glow is amazing (it's better if you shine some short of light on it before hand). The vinyl does skip if you have a suitcase turntable (like mine) because of vibrations, but to fix it just add a few coins on the needle handle (like in one of the pictures). The sound quality is amazing!! (I got the record pre-owned off a different website). Heavily recommend!

I JUST got a record player TODAY along with Circles by Mack Miller. I started with Circles and it played perfect...then I put this album on and it ran terrible. There's a constant static noise. If you can get past the static sound of a TV, then you have to deal with skips every 20-ish seconds. The bass makes the music just stop halfway through a word and then pickup again when it settles down. My new favorite lyric might be "I'm in the second- morning as they calm down". I thought maybe my Vinyl was just warped but I read a bunch of other reviews and it does the EXACT same thing. Hit me Hard and Soft comes out tomorrow so im HOPING that it works even a little bit.

what the title says … love the album but miss girl needs to get these pressed better i assumed other people were just getting unlucky or they were damaged from shipping but nope its just how these are very nice variant though , love the glow

This vinyl is AMAZING!!! Honestly, when I have a cheaper turntable I had issues with vinyl skipping and those same albums don’t skip on my new, much better turntable.I don’t think the quality issue is with this album’s pressing but rather record players and stylus’s that are cheaply made. I can’t recommend this vinyl enough!!! GID is just an added bonus!! Well done.
I love this album, but regret buying the vinyl copy from Target. It arrived poorly packed and bending the cover. When I tried to play it, there was non-stop surface noise.

Had to purchase and return a couple different vinyl records to get one that wasn't as badly warped. Great album, poor production partner. QC is much better on the (not target exclusive) orange vinyl.

As always Billie’s work is amazing, the album overall is dope and has a few meshes of different genres, but the Vinyl itself was disappointing, YES! It does glow in the dark (the picture I posted is a bit brighter than it looks in person) but it skips a good majority of !!!!!!!, Bad Guy and Xanny, and the rest of the vinyl is very noisy, lots of cracks and pops. It would be great as a Collector’s item but not for playing unfortunately. Gonna return this one and just see if it’s the pressing and hopefully this issue doesn’t carry to the next one.

It’s a great album. Glow in the dark is cool. But as everyone else says, it’s got a ton of static and skips. Quality is trash. Sounds like your grandma’s scratched up Frank Sinatra records from 1956.

People complaining about the static have no idea how to take care of their records. This one has been crispy clean and absolutely no skipping. The glow in the dark is a nice addition
