I applied this product per the instructions at the max solution of 8oz/gallon using a commercial backpack tank sprayer around shrub beds and across a little over 1/4 acre of cleared wooded area with only weeds and spotty grass. In over 3 weeks hasn't effected the wild grass and much of the weeds! Having plans to mulch & straw this entire area, this has delayed my spring project. I thought this was a good strong product but results say otherwise. So if there is a lick of grass & wild weeds in your area, find another product! I am truly upset & disappointed after all this work on top of all my other spring yard projects!

I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment with BioAdvanced Brush Killer Plus. As the product is designed to work systemically on hardier brush, it does work more slowly than other herbicides you may be familiar with. 1-6 weeks for complete death is included in the How It Works section of the label. At your convenience, please reach out to our Consumer Affairs team by e-mail at consumeraffairs@bioadvanced.com. We are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5PM CT.

Used this 2 weeks ago and the weeds are still thriving beautifully. Hmm.... bottle still seems as full as it did, too. Turned the nozzle to on position and water came out. Sure didn't like the way you have to move the little plastic piece to turn dial. My hands don't move like they used to. Need a better way to turn on and off. Obviously I wouldn't buy this again. Doesn't work.

Walked around spraying for 10 minutes. And the bottle is still completely full. So something is wrong. Very disappointing. So I turned off, disconnected, reconnected, and tried again. No difference. The sprayer doesn't work.

Misleading 42 oz Bottle Size for 32 oz of Product

Still waiting to report how this Brush Killer works but I feel a bit duped by the product already. I understand there are 32 fluid ounces in the bottle – it states that in small print on the bottom right. So why does the bottle hold 42 ounces? The bottle looked bigger than an alternative’s bottle so – silly me – I assumed there was more product in it. WRONG! I’ve heard of ‘shrinkflation’ but what is this called when a company puts their product in a bigger package but has the same or less product in that package? Packflation? :)

We appreciate your feedback on BioAdvanced Brush Killer Plus. Our products are sold by weight and not by volume. Our manufacturing process requires that all bottles are filled to the appropriate weight. In addition, we have our bottles designed to accommodate not just Brush Killer Plus, but other BioAdvanced products. Sometimes the same bottles are used to accommodate bonus size offers. This allows us to be cost effective and keep our prices low while providing quality product to our customers. In each case, we fill based on the product weight advertised on the bottle, not the amount of available space within the bottle itself.

There is absolutely nothing in the instructions for use as to the mixing/dilution amounts.

I am sorry that you were not able to find that information on the label. It may be possible that some pages are stuck together. Under the "How Much to Use" section of the label it will indicate that you would mix 4 fl. oz. per 1 gallon of water when using the Brush Killer plus Concentrate. Jessica

I bought this product because it was the o my brush killer in stock and the handle broke on the second spray leaving me with a bottle full of product and no way to use it. The only option I had was to douse what I could with the gallon jug and it didn’t even kill the poison ivy.

I have some new stumps I want to kill so went and bought this product yesterday. Looked on it and removed the bottle stickers to see if anything was on the back, nothing? Went on line and could get directions for another product Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus?? Is this the same thing?? Bayer or BioAdvance which is it?? I need to know how to safely kill my tree stumps with this product. Cannot believe you would not have the directions on this product. The only phone number on the product is to contact medical folks if you have a medical issue. Can't really rate product as I cannot use it. But to send this in I have to fill out the blocks on this rating. Do not send me emails on services or products.

Brush Killer Plus -Ready to use - Ergo Grip Wand

I just opened a new container. Was excited about the battery operated wand. Followed all directions, hooked up the hose, removed tab from battery department, turned to on and worked but sounded a little weak. Changed batteries. Turned on again. The wand sprayed but it leaked from the area where the wand folded into the handle. Not a drip but a glove soaking leak. I checked all of the connections that were visible and nothing seemed loose. Tried again and the wand would not spray at all. Nothing came out but it was still dripping. My hand was getting wet through my glove, so I stopped using. Very disappointed! I have used the Brush Killer before and the results were good. No problem there. But this new battery operated wand does not work at all.

Not as strong as their Ready to Use Product
2 out of 5 stars
JJJohnson - 4 years ago
originally posted on BioAdvanced
Ready to Use product has 0.8% concentration of Triclopyr. If you mix this product per instructions on the label (4 ounces to one gallon of water) you end up with 0.27% concentration. This explains why the concentrate, when mixed per instructions, is not as effective as the ready to use. You have to TRIPLE the amount to get the same concentration as the ready to use product (add 12 ounces of concentrate to 116 ounces of water to make one gallon total). Then it works pretty well. At the higher mix ratio this is a 4-star product. But mixing per instructions is not as effective and only rates 2 stars.
1 reply from Consumer Affairs team - 4 years ago
I am very sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with the product. The Brush Killer Plus product does only require 4 fl. oz. of product per 1 gallon of water. Mixing the product stronger would not be necessary and is essentially a waste of product. After application it may take a few weeks before seeing visible results to weeds such as wilting and discoloration and it may take up to 6 weeks for complete death of tough to kill weeds and brush. If you should need further assistance with this product please feel free to reach out to us at 1-877-229-3724. We are available Monday-Saturday 8:30-5 PM (CT). Jessica

I used it a couple of times and the auto sprayer wand didn't work the next time. I have almost a full big container of it. I changed the batteries and still doesn't work. So, will need to go buy a manual sprayer to pour the stuff in and use it in that. I'm just reviewing the one with the auto sprayer, not the brush killer itself. Piece of garbage. Buy the solution and use it in your own sprayer.

Appears to have no effect on English Ivy

November 3, I applied 48 oz. (one and a half bottles) of Brush Killer Plus on both sides of my backyard fence, trying to kill the English Ivy growing into my yard from the woods. I applied the concentrate with an Ortho Dial N Spray sprayer at 4 oz. per gallon. Since then, the average high temperature has been 71F in the first week, 68F in the first two weeks, and 64F in the first three weeks. It’s now been almost four weeks. Not only is the English Ivy not dead/dying. It appears that the Brush Killer has had no effect on the English Ivy. On the Brush Killer label, English Ivy is not listed on the Kills list. Is Brush Killer supposed to kill English Ivy?
1 reply from Customer Care team - 5 years ago
The Brush Killer Plus will kill or injure any woody plant or vine. For best results you would want to apply when actively growing so that the herbicide circulates to the root. When treating ivy we recommend cutting the ivy back first and then painting the concentrate on the fresh cut undiluted. After application it may take 2-3 weeks to begin seeing visible results of the product such as wilting and discoloration and may take up to 6 weeks for complete death.
