Description

The stainless steel thermal carafe is vacuum-sealed to ensure your coffee stays hot and drinkable for hours, and the Perfect Pour spout does away with spills and drips. The easy-to-use digital controls include a setting for batches of 1-4 cups, which maintains the flavor you get with a larger brew. Plus, you can choose the strength of your brew, with settings for regular, strong, and bold. As an added feature, the LCD display includes a fresh brew timer that indicates how much time has passed since the coffee was brewed, up to 120 minutes

Broken handle
I purchased the CM2036 coffee maker in December 2024 and the handle has broken away from the thermal carafe. The machine often stops throughout the brewing process, however I run through some vinegar, which helps for afew months. The coffee tastes great, but it is dangerous to pour with a broken handle.

not hot enouth
I received the 12-cup thermal coffeemaker on Feb. 23. It brews coffee fine but it is not hot enough and does not keep hot very long.

Disappointing coffee maker, stains easily
Makes decent coffee, keeps warm hours. Stylish, compact design. However, cffee tastes bitter and burnt if left too long. Hard to clean, stains easily. Found better brand for delicious coffee. Will review after testing. Will donate current one.

Impressive
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought a metal carafe coffeemaker because my wife is having problems with her grip and dropped the other Black & Decker 12 cup glass carafe (shattered on the tile floor). This keeps the coffee hot for 2 hrs (if the carafe is pre-warmed, as dircted). Works great and the coffee brews deliciously.

Was a great coffeemaker...but no more
This is my second coffeemaker of this model - the first one worked great for many years. This one however, can't let me pour a cup of coffee without causing several spills on the counter and the edge of my cup. I need to have paper towels handy every time I refill my cup. I suspect there is a problem sealing the lid to the canister. The previous coffeemaker did not have this problem. Is there a warranty fix for this?

Best Coffeemaker
This is my second purchase for the 12-cup Thermal Coffeemaker. I don’t know how many coffeemaker’s I’ve owned over the last 30 years, but let me tell you this is the best. I grind my own beans. I’m not a fan of Keurig type coffees. This coffeemaker is so well designed, it is easy to operate and program. Easy to maintain and clean. The Thermal carafe is outstanding and will hold the heat of your fresh brew for hours. BTW, when it arrived, it was extremely well packaged for protection yet not impossible to take out of box and set up. I can’t say enough about this coffeemaker. It is the only appliance I’ve owned by Black and Decker, and it has made me a believer of B&D appliances. Great job Black and Decker!

Overall, I like this coffeemaker. My only complaint is with the documentation. Nowhere in the manual does it say that you need to set the brew strength option before you turn the pot on. Overall, though, a minor frustration. The next test will be to see how durable it is, but it does have a 2-year warranty, which is a plus.

Quiet Brewing
Received Black and Decker 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker yesterday, followed directions for cleaning and preparing for our first pot. Set it up for an automatic brew this morning and although I was the person to set it all up, due to its QUIET brewing I couldn’t remember what time I set our morning coffee for!

Best Coffee Pot Ever
We have had this coffee pot for about a week. So far, we love it. I can't believe how long it keeps the coffee hot. I love it also because there is nothing hot on it. My little great grandbabies could touch this and never get burned. Great product. Thank you.

Strong brew and regular brew are no different, coffee was weak with both options, coffee not very hot for second cup.
