BLACK+DECKER 4-Slice Toaster, Stainless Steel, TR4900SSD

Bought this toaster 03/2024, and find this suffers the same problem as all current production toasters. The heating elements do not heat up evenly as they touch the mounting boards which 'SUCKS' the heat from the element strips. I days gone by, these strips used to be 'crimped', to keep 75% of the strip off the board and allow for heat build up for toasting. Now with material cost being what it is, these strips are now just flat bands. If companies could mount a 'spacer' mid strip to 'lift' the strip from the mounting board, I feel the strips would heat more evenly, making the toaster more efficient.

This is simply the best toaster I have ever owned. Toast comes out perfect every time. Clearly a lot of time and effort has gone into developing the perfect toaster, and Black & Decker are true perfectionists. Looks great too.

got this toaster as a gift. I`ve had so many toasters and could never find one that would toast both sides evenly without burning one side... but now I have one. This toaster works great, I love it !!!

We've had this toaster 2 weeks. Used maybe 5 times and it's not toasting properly. 1 side of bread is toasting only.

I did quite a bit of research before buying this toaster. I wanted to replace a slightly older B&D 4-slice which lacked some of the features I wanted. This definitely has what I was looking for: visible indicator on the time knob, illuminated buttons for bagel and defrost settings, easy to locate eject button. I tested it our of the box and it toasted sliced bread to my liking. However, the bagel setting does not appear to have any effect; I tested it with a slice of bread and both sides came out equally toasted. I will experiment further but so far, this is the only Issue - not quite a deal-breaker, but if anything else arises we'll have to see.

Very nice looking toaster. It works well. Black & Decker has always made good products and the price was right. We hope to get many years out of this toaster. We both love toast so it will be used every day. It's a great design too. Looks more expensive that what we paid for it.

Absolutely beautiful toaster, works perfectly, just a little big for my counter top. Would be great for a bigger kitchen.

We toast bread bagels waffles almost anything you can graduate the time and how toasted. I recommend this product so so much. My ultimate favorite I have tried here an I even make my mom buy one for here 5 stars

I literally use it EVERYDAY and I love the fact that its four slice and you can control each side differently. It has never burned my toast and also has a bagel feature too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this toaster. It's fast, it's easy to clean, and it has the bagel button which is my favorite. It has a tray on the bottom that you just slide out and toss the crumbs; it's real easy. It's nice and sleek being stainless steel. The only real downside is the fact that it's so huge. It kind of takes up a lot of space, and I don't toast things super often. So I just slide it away in my cabinet when I'm not using it.
