Q: Is the lettering on the toaster etched in, or does it wear off over time?

A: Anjay, if you are referring to the text on the buttons, this is not etched in. However, I have had mine for several years, have 4 children so we use it daily, and I just checked and do not see the faintest sign of wearing. I also wipe this down daily. so am confident saying this is built to last. I hope this helps!

A: Frankie, the item pictured is the black stainless steel option. It also is sold online in traditional stainless steel. I have had this model myself for years and love it!

New Toaster Not As Good As Previous Cuisinart

This 4 slice metal toaster was a replacement for the same model we had use for more than 10 years with great satisfaction. We replaced our original one only because the setting for degree of toasting no longer consistently worked properly. We actually bought two new 4 slice toasters. The first one was returned because the latching mechanism to hold the toast down did not work on either side. Pushing down the handle was not smooth and was met with a very tinny sound at the bottom when the latch should engage to hold the toast down. It was returned to the vendor was a replacement. The replacement did work better but the new model does not have the sound of quality that our original did. Most likely wil try another brand when this one fails.

The toaster does exactly what we want it to do. The separate controls are really handy and the bread gets as light or dark as we want it. Plus, it toasts very quickly

Our 4 slice toaster is a nice addition to our kitchen. After years of a 2 slice that at times only toasted the one side. The new one gives us even toasting and several settings to choose from. It has the extra width for bagels. Love our new toaster.

We got this toaster in 2008 as a wedding gift and it has lasted us until December 2024! It lasted 16 years - you can’t ask for much more than that! I’m so happy they are still making this toaster so I can buy a replacement!

This toaster is ready to use and the slots are nice and wide, fitting crumpets and halved bagels with no problem. The build quality is solid, but the levers feel somewhat flimsy. I miss the ability to lift the toast for checking its progress, and once done, smaller items are difficult to remove as the levers don't raise them high enough.

We bought Cuisinart because we've had great luck with the products over the years. We really liked the design, but unfortunately toast did not brown on one side and the edges burned on the other. We returned the unit.

I am very disappointed with my new toaster. I am surprised at the poor quality. I always equated Cuisinart with high quality. But this toaster is worse than the one I replace . It toasts more on the top of the item than on the bottom. Adjusting 'darkness' doesn't help.

It is a very nice toaster, and i love the brush finish. It toast nice and even and fast. We are very happy with the performance of this toaster. I only gave it a 4 star because i think the body of the toaster could be a little heavier. I have only had the toaster for a couple of months but so far so good 👍
