Play sun safe with Blue Lizard Kids Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion. Formulated with Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, this kid-friendly mineral sunscreen provides broad-spectrum, head-to-toe sun protection from harmful UV rays, including 98% of UVB rays. With up to 80 minutes of water resistance, this is the ultimate choice for more fun under the sun. With a new and improved formula, this 100% mineral sunscreen now includes antioxidant-rich Blue Algae. How to Use: Shake well prior to use. Apply liberally to dry skin 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply: after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, or at least every 2 hours. For topical use only. Keep out of reach of children. For children under 6 months of age: Ask a doctor. Sun protection measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses. It’s a mineral sunscreen so it is thicker and harder to spread than chemical sunscreens but I feel better using mineral sunscreens on my children. It rubs in pretty easily and this has protected my kids skin during the hot summer sun. No sunburns so far!

I have used this product many times in the past and our whole family has loved it. However, the recent formula change caused a rather extreme skin reaction to my daughter that caused discomfort and a visit to the doctor. A side by side comparison indicated a significant change in ingredients. Disappointing!

It’s easy to apply, not sticky, and lasts through sweat and water! I love that it is reef safe and mineral based! Also the cap turns blue when harmful UV Rays are present! How cool is that?Chemical based sunscreens are the most common in stores. They work by absorbing into the deeper layers of your skin and converting UV rays into heat, which is released into the skin. Unfortunately, UV light can destroy this function of chemical sunscreens, leaving you unprotected with potential for skin irritation. There is a sunscreen-like scent but not potent or overpowering. I have used this on my daughter, who has severely sensitive skin and she does well with this sunscreen. The sunscreen provides great protection from the UV rays. Overall, I would recommend this sunscreen.

I like how it is a lotion sunscreen because I find them more effective than spray sunscreens, however it does make it rather difficult to apply evenly without a white cast. However, it definitely works; spent multiple sunny days at the pool and haven’t been burnt once!

I'm always on the lookout for fragrance-free options, and Blue Lizard definitely delivers on that front. There's no odd scent whatsoever, which is a huge plus for me. The sunscreen itself has a thick, white consistency straight out of the bottle, but rubs in smoothly with no white cast. It feels almost like lotion. I used it paddleboarding multiple times and didn't get sunburned, so it clearly works well. Highly recommend for effective, scent-free protection.
