Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Terrible fit - don't buy

    I’m shocked these have such high reviews. I have 3 boys in underwear from 3yrs to 7yrs and the XS size fits sooo terribly it doesn’t fit a single one of them. The waist will fit snuggly but it’s so loose everywhere else they are just falling out of the underwear. terrible fit!

    Very thin, poorly made, poorly cut

    I agree with all the other negative reviews. I've purchased Cat and Jack undies in 2-3T and 4T and the quality and fit was much better. These XS undies are very poorly made and we won't be wearing them.

    These are fine. Not great. They are much longer or taller than normal boy's briefs--like several inches higher rise. They're pretty thin and softness is average. The waistband is nice and thick, the colors are true, and they're a good buy. I wouldn't recommend though.

    Comfortable but only one pattern?

    My son really likes this brand and the style. I think they run a little bit big in the bottom, but they wash well and are soft I don’t understand why there is only this one pattern of dinosaurs. The other briefs in different patterns seem to no longer be available in store or online.

    We have continued to buy these undies, first in toddler sizes and now in little boys sizes. They hold up after many washes. Colors slowly fade over time, but not a big deal. Only comment is that they do seem to run a size small - my boys are thin and still need a size up from what they wear as their pant size in these.
