I use it more for decor rather than actually holding open a cookbook. Placed my two favorite cookbooks on it side by side. Fits cookbooks that are about 1.5 inches thick. I would recommend picking this up at the store so you can inspect it for scratches/blemishes because it does not come in a box. Looks amazing on the kitchen counter. It is sturdy & sold at a reasonable price.

Packaging awful. Scratched.

Ordered two of them, and they were packaged on top of each other with no separation package and the bottom one got scratched from the top one. Not happy. Whoever packaged these literally threw them in a box together physically touching . Brass scratches ....
