About the Book

"A dangerous alliance between a Vampyre bride and an Alpha werewolf becomes a love deep enough to sink your teeth into in this new paranormal romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis. Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast-again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and she sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange. Again. Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It's clear from the way he tracks Misery's every movement that he doesn't trust her. If only he knew how right he was.... Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with the only thing she's ever cared about. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what's hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory...alone with the wolf"--

It was an easy read. Although the dialogue was at times cringy, and she talks as a 16 year old. The storyline was interesting, it gave underworld vibes.

I feel like this could’ve been such a great book. It had a Great storyline, characters and plot, but it was confusing & was ruined rather quickly for me and my daughter, due to all the cussing and explicit unnecessary smut detail. I love good romance with chemistry between the main characters but this book took it way too far and is not suitable for teenage readers. Also I wish the writer would have been more detailed in her writing about scenery and surroundings. Sometimes it was hard to picture the world that they were in. The whole book needed more details other than the smutty ones. Also I wish the characters would’ve been more descriptive in what they looked like and what they wore on a regular basis. but really over all sadly the over the top swearing and weird smut ruined this book.

I loved this book! I could not put it down. It was interesting and had so much drama and twist and turns! I also read Twilight as a teen and the vampire/werewolf content in this book made me feel like I was a teenager again.

I loved this book. It is witty, you can feel the chemistry, and it has the perfect amount of heat and passion. Hoping for more Misery/Lowe in the future!

Ali Hazelwood definitely redeemed herself with this one for me, I think I was one of the only ones who could NOT for the life, get into her fan-crazed Love, Theoretically book. The only book that I’ve ever not been able to finish, because it bored me to no end. Her writing style, A+…but I just couldn’t do it. This is her 1st “paranormal romance” book that just came out, & I REALLY actually enjoyed it! Gives off a little Twilight vibes, with the whole vamp/werewolf romance…but with more sass, rom/com, & spice! I loved Misery! (Yep, her name is Misery). She says what’s in her mind, she’s quirky, trying to find herself, & never short of sarcasm, wit & sass! I fell in love with Lowe. The whole “look at her, & die” Alpha feral masculinity had me all hot & bothered. But then there’s this sweet, great with little kids swoon worthy side to him…🫠 Loved them. There is also so much more to the book than just the romance, there’s a mystery that needs solved. Misery’s best friend/sister disappeared & she is hell bent on doing whatever it takes to find her. Even if it means, agreeing to an arranged marriage. I think the only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars was that I could not get over the whole “large knot” experience. Iykyk.

I've never read any of Hazelwoods other books. So I cannot compare to her other writings...but this...THIS *chefs kiss*. As someone who likes to fluant that I basically only read fantasy/paranormal smut...I 1000% recommend reading this. I absolutely love Lowe and Misery...and I'm praying the book ended the way it did because Hazelwood is planning on continuing... Now what everyone is looking for...spice level 3/5. I'm a girlie with little needs, just make the spicy scenes SPICY, and make sure there's some mystery and twists...it needs to be a good story ALONG with hot scenes. And this was it.

Ali Hazelwood proves that her first foray into the paranormal romance genre is a success. I almost skipped this one because I'm not a fan of vampire and werewolf romances, but this is amazing! If you are a fan of contemporary romance, do not miss this one! I initially read it from the library, and it was so good that I ordered a copy to keep.
