About the Book

"Tiernan de Haas doesn't care about anything anymore. The only child of a film producer and his starlet wife, she's grown up with wealth and privilege but not love or guidance. Shipped off to boarding schools from an early age, it was impossible to escape the loneliness and carve out a life of her own. And when they suddenly pass away, she knows she should be devastated. But has anything really changed? She's always been alone, hasn't she? Jake Van der Berg, her father's stepbrother and her only living relative, assumes guardianship of Tiernan. Sent to live with Jake and his two sons, Noah and Kaleb, in the mountains of Colorado, Tiernan quickly learns that these men now have a say in what she chooses to care and not care about anymore. As the three men take Tiernan under their wing, she slowly finds her place among them...and as a part of them. Because lines blur and rules become easy to break when no one else is watching. One of them has her. The other one wants her. But he's going to keep her."--

Book Synopsis

Three of them, one of her, and a remote cabin in the woods. Let the hot, winter nights ensue in this steamy dark romance from New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas, now with bonus material.

Tiernan de Haas doesn't care about anything anymore. The only child of a film producer and his starlet wife, she's grown up with wealth and privilege but not love or guidance. And when her parents suddenly pass away, she knows she should be devastated. But she's always been alone, hasn't she?

One of the most cliffhanging books I’ve ever read. I wish I could read this book over again for the first time. You will not expect the ending!

Incest and potential grooming is not acceptable

I am an open minded person who finds interest in reading forbidden romance stories. However I draw the line on certain topics like grooming and incest. This story depicts an insinuation of the main protagonist being groomed before she hits the age of 18.

Imbalanced Power Dynamics: The protagonist, Tiernan, is placed in a vulnerable situation as a young woman who recently lost her parents. The older characters who take her in (her guardian and his sons) engage in questionable relationships with her, raising concerns about coercion and consent in the context of her dependence on them. Blurred Lines of Consent: While the book presents many encounters as consensual, some readers feel the power imbalances and emotional manipulation undermine the authenticity of that consent. Toxic Relationships: The story features toxic behaviors, including manipulation, possessiveness, and questionable moral boundaries, which could romanticize unhealthy relationships. Age Gaps and Family Dynamics: The relationships involve Tiernan’s guardian and his sons, which creates an unsettling dynamic for some readers because of the pseudo-familial context and significant age differences. Mental Health and Trauma: The book explores Tiernan's grief and emotional vulnerability but has been critiqued for not fully addressing the psychological implications of her experiences..

Read the reviews on Goodreads . This book was not good . It was very gross and made it seem like it’s okay for a teenager to h00k up with an adult . I heard good things about it too many times, and was VERY disappointed reading this . I wanted to DNF multiple times .

I enjoyed this because I didn't take it seriously it was really bad and felt even like rage bait it's a romance where the main characters are step-family. This is also a explicit book(I'm tricking my DNF reader friend into reading this)

Book arrived in a brown paper envelope with no protection, and was damaged along the spine and has creases along the cover. Not too happy with the condition it came in.

Loved this book. It’s taboo sure, but nevertheless very interesting. Hoped for a different outcome but it’s fine!
