Britax Marathon ClickTight Convertible Car Seat - Mod Blue SafeWash

I did extensive research before I bought the clicktiggt marathon car seat. My kids ride rear facing for as long S I can make them. The cover on the most rear part continually comes off and is really annoying but it might have saved my child has we had we gotten in a wreck while he was in this car seat. We noticed a screw on our weather tech floor mats but couldn't identify where it came from because my husband sells car parts and it could have belonged to any number of hardware. The other day we got the car seat out to clean it and the frame was wobbly. I saw that a screw was missing and the matching screw on the opposite side was loose. I was able to find the screw and put it back in for temporary safety fix until I can replace the seat with a brand that will hopefully be better than this. Pretty disappointed with the safety I had expected being a false sense of security. I would hate to know what would have happened if we wrecked and my son would have been in this car seat.

A little tricky to install the first time. Once installed rear facing (the only way I have tried so far), using the anchors at the base of the seat, it is very difficult to remove as loosening the strap by pushing the gray release button on the buckle on the right side of the seat to get some slack on the straps is quite hard especially if you install the seat on the passenger side of the rear seat and you are on that side of the car and have to reach over the seat. So far, the only way I can get slack is to go over to the driver's side of the rear seat and even then it is quite challenging. Then, of course I have to either drag it across the rear seat (as long as there is nothing on the seat, like packages, people, etc.) or go back around to the passenger side. Another issue with the rear facing position and using the seat anchors is it is very difficult to get your hand between the back of the rear seat and the front of the car seat to adjust the tilt. Otherwise, so far, it is a good car seat. I will be changing to the front facing position in a few months and will see how that goes.

I bought this car seat in March of 2021 and after 1 year and 2 months of use I noticed that the hip belt strap is fraying on both sides. One side is hanging on by a thread. Clearly this started during the 1 year warranty period but Britax will not replace the harness under warranty. This is so bad I cannot use the car seat at all and this car seat is supposed to last 10 years????

The install is my favorite part about it! It’s so easy to click in and so secure! It doesn’t budge at all, putting my mind at peace. The look and feel of the car seat is so slick and nice. It’s easy to clean, wipe off and maintain. I don’t know if it’s because it’s so new and stiff still, but it is hard to adjust the safety straps and get them tight enough. Also the strap tension release button is a little too far inset, especially for my husband who has bigger fingers. We’re hoping as we use it more the straps will get more “broke in” and easier to adjust. Overall a great quality, safe car seat and very happy with it. Just hoping it gets easier to adjust as time goes on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received my car seat I loved that it came in an easily accessible box. I didn’t have to break the box or lift the car seat to get it out. I loved the back and grey color scheme that I received. The material is soft and the cushion is comfortable for my 3.5 year old. After reviewing the manual and a quick video on YouTube I was able to figure out how to install the car seat. It was a lot simpler than I thought. Pull out the latch belt, Twist the click tight button to lift the compartment, thread it through, buckle and tighten. My only drawback when installing was you have to be careful not to pull it too taut that it’s creates tension to the point that you can’t close the click right compartment. Once it’s closed the car seat was super secure. It didn’t move at all. My son sat in his new car seat and was pleased with how comfortable it was. He was very excited to be in a new seat. He buckles himself in and I tighten the seatbelt every time. It was easy for him to buckle without me having to intervene. I am not a fan of the impact absorbing chest pads although I do appreciate them. I just feel like they are in the way and I have to adjust them every time he gets into his seat. I can’t vouch for the cool flow and dual comfort fabrics as I live in the northeast and have not experience the heat yet but hopefully it’ll come on handy in the summer. For now, it’ll stay in my vehicle as our permanent Car seat. I was gifted this convertible Car seat to try as a part of the Stellar product Testing Panel

In short, this is a solid, safe car seat that is a breeze to install even for car seat newbies. Pros: +The Clicktight system is super easy to use when installing the seat, so it can get transferred from car to car without taking much time. I wish I had known about this earlier and would have bought this seat from the very beginning. +It is comfy. My toddler is still rear-facing and used to an extender to give his long legs some space. I was worried that he would feel too squished but he said that he is very comfortable. +You can take off all the padding in pieces and without uninstalling the car seat. If your kid gets carsick, spills a lot, or just seems to attract messes then you know how important this is. Easy off, no class in car seat construction required. +My kid loves it. He genuinely likes climbing in and he has told his preschool teachers and classmates all about his car seat. He falls right asleep on longer car rides. +Easy to adjust the size. As he grows or someone else needs the seat, it is easy to adjust the straps back and forth. Cons: - It is big. This might not be an issue for your car, but this is not a seat for doing three across. We only have two, so it is fine for us. -Adjusting the chest clip is awkward. There are rubbed pads below the shoulder pads, on either side of the chest clip called Impact Absorbing Chest Pads. They tend to stick to clothes, so if you need to adjust the height of the chest clip, it takes more effort. I like the safety feature but would prefer something less grippy. -Harness straps don't stay even. I have had to reset the straps more often than other car seats. I make sure my kid is sitting in the middle of the seat every time, but it still happens. This is why I would give it 4 stars instead of 5.

The click tight feature not only keeps the car seat tight, but makes it extremely easy to move from car to car, which we actually do a lot with babysitters and grandparents, so that was very important to us. The fabric is also very soft and comfortable for our kids and easy to clean, again SUPER important. I think the seat is very sleek looking as well and looks high end. The fabric we have is also cool in the heat of a South Carolina summer, which the kids and parents very much appreciate! Overall a great car seat that can grow with your child from newborn to toddler. We do have a 4.5 year old that is 52lbs and 46" and it is a little too small for him, so if you are looking for an older child this probably isn't the best fit. Overall, this is a fantastic seat with lots of great features that both parents and children can appreciate! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed from the get go with this seat. It’s packaged well and feels substantial even in the box. Once we took it out, it’s a great looking seat. My boys all liked the feel of the fabric, and I love knowing that it’s not full of chemicals. The straps are cool, they have like a rubbery bumper thing on the back so they stay in place. Installing the seat wasn’t too bad, it’s a pretty big seat though so I wouldn’t necessarily want to be getting it in and out all the time. The Click Tight technology is neat (and reassuring to know it’s been installed correctly) and Britax is known for safety and performance…and based on the construction of this seat, you can tell. One of our favorite features was how customizable the position/recline was, which is great if you have fussy car riders like I do that are all different ages. There’s some nice plush padding too, which helps with the seat being comfy. We’ll see how it is in the summer though, all that may lead to a hot seat in the heat. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start off by letting you know that we currently own 6 Graco 4ever car seats. We have 3 children under 5 and utilize 3 car seats for each vehicle. I was over the moon to try another brand of car seat to see how they compare. When I unboxed the Britax Marathon ClickTight I was immediately impressed by the aesthetic of the car seat. The material is so soft, durable and looks high quality! I am in love with the gray and tan color scheme and love how chic it looks. I have a difficult time installing and tightening our Graco car seats so I was pleased at how easy I was able to install this one. I didn't spend 30 minutes in the car frustrated and giving up and finally have my husband take over. I love that I can easily take this out and put in a grandparents car if needed without stressing that it is not installed correctly. The car seat is very roomy and my 18 month fits comfortably in the rear-facing position. The straps are easy to tighten and loosen, which is important when you have to take them in and out of the car multiple times a day. One part I didn't love was the rubber tracks next to the chest buckle, but that is just a minor complaint in comparison to all the positives. The material is so nice and looks like it can easily be removed from the base in case you need to wash it. The most important thing is that it is SAFE for your children. This car seat has a steal frame and full body side impact protection that surrounds their head, neck, and torso. I'm excited that this will grow with my child which is important to me when purchasing a car seat. A few minor things to consider - I wasn't able to adjust the position of the seat once I had it strapped in and tightened and it does not have any cup holders. So far I am really liking this car seat just as much as our current Graco's and this one is priced more affordably. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to say that all car seats are the same, but this one has changed my mind and stands above the rest! The main feature here is the click in design, and it did not disappoint. I think anyone who watches the video on how to install it could do it easily and quickly. But if you’re getting this car seat because you think it will be so easy to switch from car to car, you need to know that it is seriously heavy. Could your husband carry it around? Yes. Could your mother in law carry it around? I don’t know. But once it’s clicked in it feels incredibly secure- the most important part of a car seat! Plus the cushion is so nice! It feels more like a memory foam than anything else, and even the bottom buckle area is cushioned so it’s not pressing uncomfortably into the crotch area. My toddler used to get car sick all the time when he was rear facing and getting the car seat clean was a nightmare. Being able to easily take off AND easily put back on the cushions is a major perk with this seat (I didn’t wash it yet but I did practice taking it off and on). I do wish that it had cup holders but that’s what snack cups are for. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this car seat. I loved that this was a no frills car seat, meaning no extra bells and whistles that I didn't need. However, note that if you wanted cup holders, this seat does not have them. However, since that aspect was not important to me, I love the seat for what it does boast -- safety and simplicity. It is very easy to install with the ClickTight system. Unbelievably simple. If installing is something you struggle with, or if you move your car seat frequently, get this seat. It will save you a lot of time and effort during the install. The fabric is great and the removable cover will definitely come in handy to wash when needed. We have other Britax products for our baby and have trusted in the brand for a long time. Typically I have to install all of the kids car seats but my husband did it all on his own so I was impressed! The fabric is so soft and the shoulder straps have a nice rubber coating on them to make it extra comfortable for the kids. We are using it in my husbands sedan right now behind the drivers seat, backwards facing. There is still a little space between the car seat and chair. It is pushed all the way back in the below picture. Our 2 year old seems to really enjoy this car seat. We have three other carseats from different brands and this one is by far the easiest to install and the nicest fabrics. I’m a first time mom of an 18-month old son. I’m not super handy and usually skip the instructions and just try to figure it out when building things. This is our second convertible car seat, the other from a major premium brand. I love the colors of this car seat. The blue is beautiful! It feels good too. The materials are naturally flame retardant ad well so we don’t have to worry about all of the chemicals. I also love how long the strap is to lengthen the shoulder harnesses compared to our other seat and how limited the harness extension was. Opening up the seat is super easy to clean it out (crumbs!) and buckle/unbuckle the seatbelt to move the seat between cars. While it’s a convertible seat, the weight is not too heavy to move from car to car. It also fits in our Honda Civic with plenty of room. My 18-month old son also seems less fussy in the car over the last couple of weeks compared to our other seat. The written instructions and a YouTube video made installation a breeze. The only thing that feels less premium than our first seat is that the buckles feel like a softer rubber rather than hard plastic or other material. However, I think it may mean its more comfortable for my son. Would recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a functional, safe, and clean car seat. My number one consideration when buying a car seat is safety. Britax is a name I can and have trusted since having my daughter 5 years ago. I love that with this seat, my kids heads are padded and protected from side impacts. It's also great that the fabric is not treated with flame-retardant chemicals. I do my best to avoid flame-retardant chemicals whenever I can, and I'm grateful that Britax has been conscious of how many consumers are looking for this option. As far as size goes, it's great as a long-lasting convertible seat. Both my 38lb two-year-old son and my 43lb five-year-old daughter fit in this seat- my two-year-old sitting rear-facing, and my five-year-old sitting forward facing. I chose to test this product that I was gifted through the Stellar Product Testing Panel on my rear facing two-year-old because he is messier and spends more time in the car. He is comfortable rear-facing, but now that he's getting heavier, it takes a little muscle and maneuvering to get him situated properly when I'm putting him in. I wish this seat had some sort of adjustment at the feet to allow for more space for a rear-facing child. I go overboard and keep my kids rear-facing for as long as possible (my daughter was 4 when we turned her around) so this is important to me. The materials are incredibly soft and feel high-end, but are also easy to clean. Most messes could be wiped or vacuumed off, but a spilled yogurt drink required a washing. It was very easy to remove the cover and throw in the washing machine- it looked good as new in a couple hours and was easy to put back on. This is a HUGE bonus for me, because I can't stand a dirty car seat, especially one that my kids will use for a while. Installation was easier than some seats because of the Click Tight system, but more difficult than others I've tried with a rigid latch system. Still, it took under twenty minutes to watch a video and install it safely in my truck. Another advantage It has is the long safety tether for the forward facing position. We have a 2021 Honda Ridgeline and the tether anchor is all the way down near the floor of the car- other seats have not reached, but this one does! Overall, I'd highly recommend this seat to anyone looking for a safe, long-lasting, and comfortable car seat.

For the last two years we have owned two different Britax carseats. This Marathon ClickTight Convertible carseat is our third. Pros: - Super soft, beautiful fabric that has NO added flame retardant chemicals to it (and is naturally flame-retardant.) Which is very important to me and always a top priority when looking to purchase a carseat. - Quick and effortless install with the ClickTight feature (It is seriously the best. All three of our carseats are ClickTights and it makes installation a breeze.) - I love the convenience factor of the material/upholstery being washer and dryer safe. - Lastly, safety features are of the utmost importance to me when choosing one for my son to ensure he is as safe as he can be. This carseat has a reinforced steel frame and side impact protection which puts my mind at ease knowing that he is protected. Cons: - This carseat seems far less roomy than our Britax One4Life (although, I believe that particular model is meant to be larger/roomier.) However, even so, my 35 pound 3 year old was still comfortable in it while rear-facing.

Within a day of getting it, I had to install it quickly by myself (never done installation without my husband) and it was an easy process. The ClickTight technology allows you to secure the seat without having to reach around everything - which I love! The only downside is that it does not have cup holders. The other features (including the fabric and size) outweigh this con in my opinion. All in all I would highly recommend for convenience and ease!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look and feel of the fabrics on this seat. My daughter loves bright colors so she was really happy to see the purple seat. She runs a bit warm, but seemed to stay at a very comfortable temperature in this seat. I have heard that flame-retardent chemicals are believed to be harmful, so it was nice that the seat was made without them. I love that the padding is machine washable, which is a must for our family. The seat is shallower than others she has used, so she was initially upset at her legs being a bit cramped and having to find new ways to position them. Installation was really easy with the seat belt and with the included latch strap. The clip of the latch strap is the traditional clip style which does make it more difficult to switch from car to car if you need to swap it out frequently, but the seatbelt installation is very easy and keeps the belt out of the way once it is completed. The padding on the crotch buckle is nice, especially for those warm days when my girl wears shorts or a dress. My daughter seemed pretty comfortable in this seat for the most part, however she developed a small bruise on her tailbone after a day of shopping and errands. I don't know if this was due to the seat itself, the padding, or the position of her clothes, but this has never happened to her in any other seat. I have rheumatoid arthritis and found the body straps very easy to tighten and loosen and the buckles very easy to release, making these my favorite parts of the carseat. I do think my husband may have some difficulty in loosening the straps as his fingers are large and the button is in a sort of tube near the base of the seat, but I find this to be a nice feature, as my daughter is very good at getting out of containment once she sets her mind to it, so I know this would make it more difficult for her. My daughter is in the 98th percentile for height and weight and we intend to rear face until she reaches the height or weight limits of the seat, but I don't know that this plan will work for this particular seat. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m going to just start by saying EASY INSTALL!!! This click tight technology is truly the most user friendly tech I’ve ever seen. It takes just minutes to open, adjust and install this seat!! I am using it with my 2 year old, 27lb and 35” tall toddler, in a rear facing click tight seatbelt installation. He’s a smaller dude, and this seat is so beyond perfect for him. It’s comfy for him, he even said “me like me seat!” The fabric is so smooth, easy to wipe, the color is neutral and I love the white outer hard shell. It’s very modern looking, and simple in design. The no re thread harness is a definite win! I also loveeee how the straps tighten! it is actually the easiest tightening and loosening I’ve ever had to deal with (I have 4 kids!) its super smooth. My only complaint is the lack of a cup holder but truly that’s not even a big deal. It’s not too heavy either, and seems to have a somewhat narrower footprint in the car. It’s also easily adjusted for the proper recline. I am so beyond stoked that I got to review this from Stellar Product Testing Panel! this car seat is going to get years of use out of it. Eventually he will flip forward when he maxes out of the height and weight limits.
