About the Author

Arthur Scinta is the town historian and former mayor of Pelham, New York. A trained architect and litigator, Scinta has decades of experience in law, historical preservation, real estate, and community organization. He is the founder of New York City's Hendrick I. Lott House Preservation Association and the Pelham Preservation Society, Ltd, and provided pro bono legal services as a board member of the Historic House Trust of NYC. With his background as an architect, experience in historic preservation, and understanding of local history, he is frequently asked to speak at organizations, churches, and schools. Scinta writes and speaks often on local history while maintaining and expanding the Town Historian Archives and Collection in Pelham, where he lives with his wife. This is his first book.
