Q: I received the gray marble as a gift and it sheds terribly. I’ve never had a throw or blanket shed like this one. Is it this particular color/style, and is this typical for this throw?

  • A: Hi J, Brookstone throws are machine wash and dry on gentle cycles. Important not to wash with other laundry so that there is no bunching or tangling. Disconnect all cords, but most importantly read all washing/care instructions carefully.

Melted soldering and stopped working

This blanket was great and kept me warm through the cold months. Less than 4 months later it stopped working. My partner investigated and opened the box attached to the power cord and discovered loose parts inside and detached parts. It appears that inside the box got hot enough to melt soldering. I also bought one for my daughter and asked her to stop using it in case there are any risks due to overheating power cable parts. I’m really disappointed because I suffer from nerve pain in the cold and this blanket finally helped me through the winter and cool nights in spring.

NO!!!

SHEDS LIKE MAD!!! Washed following directions and now it’s totally unusable because it sheds like nothing I’ve seen in my life. Literally bars of fur all over. Picture attached is a sweatshirt I wore using the blanket. Will be tossing. What a shame because I loved it

Unfortunate turn of events.

Well, no news is good news, right? I’m only writing this because after 8 months of use my wife’s heated throw no longer works. Going through the brook stone site is of no use of course when purchasing through a retailer and naturally the return window has closed for Target to take it back. She really loved it and the color. Many of tv shows were binged under the comfort and warmth of this throw. Unfortunately it’s dead and never even got washed. Never got relocated. Nothing. Just one day it wouldn’t turn on and that day was last week. O well, onto another. They build them like they use to…

Soft, lovely and well made blanket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfy and soft blanket. I'm chronically overheating, so I have unplugged the power bank from it. That being said, it's pretty, matches my pale green and silver bedding, and vaguely reminds me of the fur skins in the Winterfell scenes on GoT. I have sensory issues and need a sensory blanket as a top layer under my face when I sleep, and this has surprisingly been a hit.

Broke After Two Washes

The blanket only heated up on one side when I got it. I was going to exchange it for a new one, but didn’t want it ending up in a garage dump and figured it worked well enough to make a go of it. Big mistake. After the second wash (following all directions), the power button just blinks on and off and the blanket doesn’t turn on, and the return window has expired.

Don't buy this blanket.

An expensive blanket didn’t last two weeks. Broken. Contacted Target with no help. Contacted Brookstone no help. DO NOT BUY this. I’m really upset I can’t return it or refund it.
