Burt's Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm - 0.3oz

We tried this because we like other Burt’s Bees lip balms and we like pomegranates. This one is STINKY, TASTES BAD, and for some reason is TINTED. Neither my husband nor I are willing to use this. Return window was small, too, so I missed it – had to trash. For reference, we’ve been happy with the ultra conditioning (pleasantly neutral) and the sweet mandarin, disliked the pomegranate and the pear, split opinion on the peach.

Like other people on the website, I am a long time loyal customer of Burt's Bees with the original Beeswax Lip Balm. Unfortunately the store I was at was out of the original so I picked up the Pomegranate Lip Balm which turned out to be quite unpleasant. Had a funky smell and thought maybe the flavour would be there but no Pomegranate scent to it. Also one note is it provides red 'marks' which I didn't know about. Didn't realize until checking the website that the formula had changed and apparently I wasn't the only one customer who went through it all...

Like many many of the people here, I am a long time loyal customer of Burt's Bees. I usually stick to the original, beeswax unflavored version--but have also noticed a formula change I have found quite unpleasant. I worry that as the years have gone on--the brand has become less reliable, and has pushed products of a lower quality. That being said--I recently started trying the flavors, and have been fairly happy with the other ones I've tried, but I picked up a pomegranite one today and was surprised to open the package and find that it was a tinted lip balm. I wouldn't have purchased it if I had known. I'm quite pale, and when I applied the balm, the tint made me look like I just ate a bowl of spaghetti with red sauce, it is very unflattering. I don't have an issue with the scent/flavor thats making the other low reviewers unhappy--but I'm very disappointed that the product was not labeled truthfully. I also think its telling that diehard fans of the other flavors are upset about the very noticeable formula changes that Burt's Bees has put forward over the last few years. I really hope the company listens to loyal customer's opinions about their ever declining formula quality, and in the case of the pomegranite for me--poorly labled packaging.

This is the only lip balm I have found that doesn't irritate me. I put it on, it moisturizes my lips and soaks in, not staying on top of my lips like a lot of lip balms do. I can't stand that feeling of goop on my lips. I also love the smell of the pomegranate!

As many have stated in previous reviews, the trusted, loved, fan favorite pomegranate chapstick formula has changed for the worst. Like some diehard pom chapstick lovers for years, the new formula was very easily noticed. The scent is a mix between a faint oils gone bad to cheap perfume like scent, challenging for me to describe but more floral than fruit. The classic juicy pomegranate scent that was loved by many is gone. The texture is greasy & needs to be reapplied often. My lips are left needing more moisture angain after about 15 minutes, not truly nourishing and hydrating my lips which the old formula did. The residue left is a mix between chapped & cakey on my lips personally. I am a wildland firefighter & this chapstick was ALWAYS in my pockets while on the line. It was a trusted lip AND nose product I used when my lips & nose were dry or chapped. I absolutely loved the old formula & product. I had waaayyy too many tubes and gifted them to others often. All and all, I am actually heartbroken my trusted chapstick is gone. I will be seeking a replacement but it will honestly be hard, nothing compared to that pomegranate chapstick. This is dramatic I know, but the OG girlies will get it…. You are not alone or crazy.

I have been using Burt’s Bees Pomegranate lip tint for 12 years I think. It keeps my lips soft and hydrated all day and it is lightly tinted so I do not have to use any additional lip color. I keep one in my purse, one by my night stand, one at my computer and one in my bathroom. You might say I don’t like to be without it, but I am down to two right now.

This is literally the only lip balm I’ve used for almost 20 years. It moisturizes, doesn’t irritate or dry out my lips, and gives a little color without needing a mirror. I have them stashed away everywhere (car, purse, desk, bathroom) and I always have a backup. I hope they never change it!

I love the Burt s Bees Pomegranate so so much. Sometimes I can't find it and I buy another cherry CS brand :( ..everywhere I go it is sold out. When I see the pomegranate lip balms a buy them up. I love the scent and the hint of color.. it makes my lips so soft and leaves them a shiney deeper pink/red... Looove! <3

Really disappointed by this pomegranate balm. I applied it and immediately experienced a very strong smell and taste of some floral perfume. I have several other Burts Bees products and none of them have that a smell. I actually googled it to make sure I wasn’t the only one experiencing this…and I am definitely not. The texture and feel of the balm is fine but I cannot get past the smell of it.

The cap was missing from one of the chapsticks and it looked like someone had used it!! I had to throw it away.

Like many others here I find the taste and smell of this to be nothing like pomegranate. It has a distinctly medicinal taste, almost like eucalyptus. I purchased another tube thinking it might have been the one I got, but that one tasted the same. I never had the previous formula but I wish I had because I love pomegranate. I use many other Burt's Bees products including other lip balm flavors and the rest of them are fine. This one is a real disappointment. I hope the company takes these comments seriously and does something about it.

I’m so disappointed that my tried and true lip balm has changed. I have used only this lip balm for well over 10 years. Please change the formula back!! You have lost a customer until your standards go back up. Tell whoever made the change that they are losing loyal customers.

I want to cry!! Why did the change the formula? I had to immediately wipe it off. It tasted absolutely disgusting and the smell is completely different. I can never buy this again after a decade of loyalty.

At 79, I am too old to remember exactly when I started using this amazing stuff. But I know it has been at least 20 years. It is always with me and I keep a supply in my jewelry draw. It belongs there. It is the JEWEL of lip products. My lips hurt without burtsbees lip balm smoothed deep into them. The slightly rosy color of Pomegranate is a bonus on my old, pale face.

Why have you changed what was a perfect product? For more than fifteen years Burt's BeesPomegranate has been my one and only product for lips - always in my pocket, purse and in multiple rooms through out the house. It was a traditional stocking stuffer and was also the preferred "go to" for daughter and granddaughter. Why would you mess with a perfect product? So disappointed. The last four pack left me with concern that I might have a counterfeit product. After opening the first tube in a new four pack and after reading current reviews, I realize that I most certainly have the real deal. It is just not what I have loved and used for so many years.

Why did you change the formula of this?! I will never understand why companies do this with products that have been loved for years by so many people. The new formula smells awful, drys out my lips and is super oily. It is a complete and utter failure of a product. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR LIFELONG CUSTOMERS AND BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA!!!!!

this is hands down my favorite lip balm. it's the most moisturizing, and has better staying power than other balms. the scent is almost nonexistent, which is a good thing (I really dislike fragrances in cosmetics). plus I really love the subtle pink color. it's just about perfect, no other products come even close to this one. Burts: PLEASE make a version of this in a tin! more and more people are trying to reduce their plastic use. discontinuing the tins is a step in the wrong direction.
