Nope I gave these to my golden shepherd and his poor mouth was bleeding from it splintering. It was enough blood to leave a few drops on my floor but he seemed to really like it. I don’t think these should be allowed as unsupervised can cause choking or hurt mouth

Thank you for your comment. In a situation like this, it is indicative that your dog needs to be chewing more because the bleeding is indicative of sensitive gums. Rawhide has the unique property amongst dog chews of softening as dogs chew on it rather than maintaining its hardness. Please call the number on the back of the bag but overall please do monitor your dog while chewing but definitely continue to provide chews to them as it will improve oral health.

We are sorry that you felt this was worth a one star review. Rawhide is, by definition, a hard long lasting chew that softens as your dog chews on it. One of the most important things when choosing a chew for your dog is to make sure that it is the right size for them. There are a number of other chews available in the Canine Chews assortment at Target that perhaps would be a better fit for your dog. We would welcome you to call the number on the back of the package to make recommendations for other products that might be a better fit for your dog.
