A: The simple answer is absolutely NOT! There are no bleach or glue or other inedible chemicals that would ever be used in the production of food product. Unfortunately this is the kind of silly information that is out on the internet and it is absolutely untrue. A: These are exactly the same as the Boots & Barkley product. There are approximately 102-103 chews per bag but as this as a natural product, we would expect to see some variation. There are approximately 15 calories per twist.

Makes my dog itch like crazy
Thought we'd try these twists as they were a much better deal than our usual brand. 100% not worth it. After a few days (we gave our dog 1 per day), she began itching A LOT. Thinking it was just allergies, we continued 1 per day for about a week. More incessant itching. Like ridiculous itching. So we stopped, and within 2 days the itching subsided - by day 4 she was back to normal, no itching/scratching. We thought about giving the remaining bag to a neighbor dog but did not as we didn't want another dog to suffer all that itching. Such a waste. 0/10 - would never recommend ever.

Thank you for the note. From your description had an allergic reaction which isn’t about the product but rather about your dog. In a 100% natural beefhide product the only ingredient is beefhide so it suggests that this isn’t the right chew for your dog. Please call us as we are glad to make other recommendations.

These have changed
I used to love the rawhide treats we bought from target, but these smell like chemicals. There’s also a ton of really skinny ones in the bag. My dog eats the skinny ones too fast, before they get sufficiently soft. These used to be the perfect size for my dogs, which is why I was only buying from target. I haven’t decided for sure if I’ll be giving them to my dog or not.

Thank you for your comment. We can assure you that there is absolutely no change in the product whatsoever. Since this is a natural product there are different thicknesses of the beefhide that can result in larger or smaller twists. Since this product is sold by weight, if there were more thinner twists, there would be an increase in the number of twists that would offset it. Regarding the chemical smell, there is absolutely no chemicals whatsoever in this product but again because this is a natural product, sometimes there can be more or less aroma of the beefhide. Rawhide = Expensive Vet Visits
PSA!!! I do NOT recommend these. Ours dogs have been eating rawhide sticks for years but this pack was an issue. We had to go to the emergency vet because our sweet dog was puking up blood (over 10 pukes in 1 hour). Dogs puke, it happens, but this was incredibly scary. Vet told us he had a piece of this stuck in his stomach and his body couldn’t process it. He is fine now, just a super expensive vet visit and medicine. If it had been a bigger piece it could have meant surgery or death. No more rawhide!!

If your dog had experience with rawhide this can certainly be scary but it is unlikely that it was the rawhide that would cause this reaction. Never had tried these before. My dog loved chewing on them but then she started throwing up and having diarrhea. We didn’t know where it was coming from but then realized it was from these! I wish I read the reviews ahead of time to avoid the cleanup.

Fishy.
I bought these before looking hard at the label. Got home and there were misspelled words. Googled address and it was a loading dock somewhere in Texas. Dog liked ok but not getting them again.
