I have a Canon SLR to take personal pictures and I love having this lens! You definitely have to be further away from the subject compared to the start lens (50 mm) This lens blurs the background really good and focuses on the subject. That's why I got it. It'll be great for zooming in at sports gam...  see moreof linz87's review

This lens has been wonderful, although I do find it a bit on the heavy side for taking photos. I have found that this works great on a tri-pod, but it is still easy to work even without. It helps me not be on top of my subjects all the time and can zoom in from a far distance, and you can't beat t...  see moreof Valerie's review

I just bought this lens last week after doing some comparison shopping. I couldnt find anything similar that could beat Target's price so here we are. I took it for a test drive this weekend at San Diego's Wild Animal Park and was blown away by the quality of the zoom, easy of use and by the resulti...  see moreof hlgycc's review

I bought this lens several months ago and use it a lot. Its fairly sturdy and well built, super compact for it's focal range, and surprisingly fast. However, stabilization is almost necessary for a lens of this length if you are shooting with any lack of light. Its tough to track animals with and no...  see moreof 's review

Bought this one a while back and have been very satisfied with it. Just like a few others on here mentioned, quality can be a bit fuzzy when not using a tripod but it still pretty decent. Would not be my first choice to recommend to a professional but definitely great to start out with and learn.  see moreof Jermainevent's review

This lense was given to me by a good friend. My hands shake a lot due to Essential Tremors. This lense does not have IS which makes it harder to use without a tripod. Other than that I'm glad to have this lense!  see moreof Max61's review

I've used this lens heavily over the last year and I'd say its a decent beginner's zoom lens. The lens is pretty lightweight, easy to use, and has a good focal range, but using the longer lengths can be tricky since there isn't image stabilization. You get some slight optical imperfections at 300mm ...  see moreof Dannyboy2010's review
