I purchased 2 of these as gifts! I could not be more pleased with the service and promptness with which my order was processed and shipped. I purchased one for my wife a couple of years ago and she still raves about it!

I own two other, more expensive cameras for studio work, and one for travel. But the traveling camera lacks a mic input and fully articulating screen. The SL2 has them. Based on landscape photographer Thomas Heaton’s Review, I evaluated the camera, then purchased it from Dodd Camera. The fast and accurate autofocus outperforms any other camera I have ever experienced! The grip, balance and location/operation of controls convinced me immediately! Finally, the JPEG color quality and sharpness is amazing. I take it with me everywhere. I am now exploring other Canon cameras and lenses to purchase.

I bought this camera for my YouTube videos on my YouTube Channel. I got a recommendation from Sean Cannell with Think Media on YouTube. He said it was an excellent YouTube and VLOG camera, and I have to agree wholeheartedly! And, it is a great straight photography camera as well! I have been a photographer for over 40 years, and it works perfectly for my needs!

This camera was one of the best purchases I have made. The camera itself is probably the best out there to start with. The touch screen is great and its swiveling hinge is an extra bonus. The EF-compatible mount lets you invest in full frame lenses possibly for your next camera. The only problem I have is with the included lens. Its focus ring has a very rough and strange feel to it. I don't believe this is just mine either, I looked it up and found many other people reporting the same problem. It wasn't too much of a deal for me though because I typically just use the autofocus, which makes up for it.

I got this camera as a replacement for my canon T5 to film skateboarding and snowboarding this things auto focus was the best, it didn't make noise when i was focusing and it made a good camera for follow cam and slow-mo. Over all this is a great camera I definitely recommend for new to intermediate users.

Bought the SL2 as my first DSLR and couldn't be happier with my decision. I like to snap photos of my children, also ocean and landscapes. This is an excellent DSLR for beginners.

I bought SL2 as a backup for my Canon 6D. The JPEG colors produced by this camera are exceptionally good. The camera is very easy to use even for a newbie. 9-point AF system is simple and sufficient for most families shooting pictures of their family events. DPAF provides excellent control for shooting video and taking pictures in Live View. Live View is so easy that one wouldn't find the 9-point AF as a limiting factor anymore. A note for vloggers: this is the cheapest DPAF-enabled camera with external mic input, as of today in the market. Electronic Image Stabilization that was introduced in T7i is missing in SL2; however, it was missing from the much costlier vlogger-favorite 80D too. Honestly, I am picking up my SL2 more often than my 6D for shorter trips and that's definitely because of the size & weight factor. I would definitely recommend this camera, especially for it being so light weight, ease of use, great Canon colors and excellent video auto-focus.

I had three SL-1 bodies, the earliest (introduction month) of which developed some shutter issues in old age (123,000 shutter count). I run a business based on imaging to sell stuff. When the SL-2 was announced I got one of the first released. The Digic 7 processor and the higher buffer and write speeds are great. It is much better for moving objects, but not as good as the D7 Mark II with dual Digic 7's I also have in the office, but its smaller and far lighter. The SL-2 pivoting screen (at last) means I can get rid of my 90 degree finder for flowers. The Low light sharpness on the SL-2 is much improved in our bread and butter process equipment factory pictures. I don't know how many SL-1 bodies Canon sold, but I predict a greater number of SL-2 will be sold. The need to get a new remote release is a small thing. BTW, I don't use the wireless stuff, a solid corded connection can't be beat. Canon hits solid base hits and doesn't swing for the fences. They are losing the mirrorless war so far. But, they are bullet-proof in their home turf. Sony look out. The SL-2 is a must have in my opinion and has no competition. Oh, did I mention the SL-2 body still fits into a sport jacket pocket?

I use this as a casual walk around camera to compliment my full frame pro system. The SL2 is an excellent update. Everything is better. I love the new recessed mode dial on the top. I'm using this camera body with an EF-S 55-250 STM and an EF 28 f/2.8 IS. Exceptional clean image quality at 11 MP (M medium resolution). The pixel density at 11 MP is perfect on APS-C. Especially for hand held use. I couldn't be happier with this camera. I suspect Canon will do very well with this new model.
