About the Book

Many introductory books have been written about the Kabbalah in recent years. Some of them aim at superficially deciphering the main concepts of a practically impenetrable subject; others seek to describe the way in which the mystical teachings were transmitted through the most famous Kabbalists of the different generations, dwelling on anecdotes and fables; others, finally, reduce their field of study to dubious comparisons between mystics and esoteric thinkers of different religions. About the Author

Rabbi Bar Lev (Tel Aviv in 1943), attended Yeshivat Tel Aviv primary schools, and continued his studies at Ha'Yishuv Ha'Hadash. The most intense period of his education in the field of Torah literature was during the five years he attended Yeshiva Poneviz in Bnei Brak. After his marriage, he continued his secular studies and in 1976 he received his doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Arizona (USA). After completing his studies, Rabbi Bar Lev returned to Israel with his family and entered the field of education.
