Q: How does the slipcover wash? Will it shrink?

A: This covers shrink and then tear when you try and put them back in the chair!!

submitted byMS NY - 1 year agoA: Hi momof3 -- Thank you for reaching out! The slipcovers are meant to be washed in warm water (aim for 40 degrees) and tumble dried on a low cycle setting. As a general rule of thumb to prevent shrinkage, always be sure to check dryness throughout first half of cycle in the event they can be removed early. These slipcovers can also be cool ironed if necessary.

Beautiful chairs at a great price point. I wanted slipcovered chairs but didn’t want to spend a lot since I didn’t know how well they would hold up with kids. These have been great so far! I’ve been able to clean off stains with soap and water and they look as good as new. Putting them together was fairly simple and as some reviewers have mentioning the slipcovers are snug but I had no issues carefully putting them on. I have not washed them in a washer but when o do I would not put these in the dryer! Great buy for the money!

Dont hold up.
Not good quality. They are cute, but upon assembling…I realized one of the two I bought wouldn’t tighten all the way making the chair feel unstable. I finally got my husband to do it, and he said that was as tight as it would go…and now months later the second one feels the same way and we can’t tighten them. They both wobble back and forth, rendering them useless. I had some from ikea that were much better quality. Don’t recommend unless no one will be sitting in them. Otherwise, they are cute with a modern flare since the back of the chair is lower.

Love this chair. No issues at all with the cover fitting the chair. I don't think ppl know that you traditionally cut the pleats. If not, I can see why ppl complain about the fit. You can even see the different thread used for the pleat so you know where to cut. Very similar to the flap in the back of a blazer. You always cut the thread to open it. Regardless, beautiful and comfortable chair. It's more of a grey/brown/mushroom color.

Worst Chairs Ever
These are the worst chairs! It’s impossible to get stains out of the material and the slipcovers were hard enough to get on the first time. After washing, they were impossible to get back on and I washed in cold water and did not dry. So so disappointed in these.

Defective, do not buy!
This item is defective, do not buy. I bought 6 chairs and all of the chair covers are sewn too small for the chairs even before trying to wash them. I bought these because the covers are washable. I had hoped washing them (did not dry and followed the instructions) would help with loosening the fabric but it’s just as bad as when I originally put the covers on out of the package. I am so disappointed and wasted over $1000 being that I bought 6 armless and 2 with arms. This is undoubtedly the worst product I have ever purchased from target.

Leg holes didnt line up
I wanted this chair to work out, but I couldn’t put it together since the holes for the legs didn’t line up. After an hour of struggling to find a way to get it to work, I gave up and will be returning the chairs. The chairs are not well made.

I love them! They look expensive and rich. I wish the canvas slipcover washing pilling from the skirt. That would be the only cons.
