  • A: Instructions do not come with the vest. Hold the vest at the front and lift it over your head, sliding your head through the gap to settle the vest evenly on your shoulders. Grab the side straps and pull them around to the front, securing them with the Velcro. The vest should feel balanced and not pull you forward or backward. When adding or removing weight pouches make sure to remove an equal amount of weight from the front and back pockets. In other words, put as much weight on the front as on the back. Begin with a small amount of weight and gradually increase the load as your body adapts.

    Avoid it

    The weight go on the inside of the vest, held uncomfortably against your body. Weights are too big for the tiny pockets. Poorly designed, poorly executed. Might be worth 8 bucks if you're desperate.

    Difficult to set up

    Vest comes empty so you have to insert the weight packets yourself and it’s quite challenging, the individual pockets are very tight and there are 20 individual weight packets.

We ship the vests empty for a specific reason: to give you full control over your weight settings and help to achieve a perfectly balanced distribution across your body. Not everyone is ready to jump straight into a fully loaded 20lb weight vest, so this design allows you to progress at your own pace. The pockets are intentionally tight, this is by design- we need that snug fit to ensure the weights stay secure. We want to avoid any " sloshing" during your workout, which would be a distraction from your training.

    Well worth the investment

    Really like that I can customize how much weight is on the vest. I do think it could use a redesign of the individual pockets each weight goes in to- it was pretty difficult to put each weight in, and even harder to maneuver the "cover" to ensure eight weight stays in place. Another half inch in these pockets/lids would have been perfect to get rid of the issue.

    Would recommend

    I had a hard time finding an adjustable vest with this range (1-20 lbs). I started out with 8 lbs on it, not even 10% of my body weight. It was a challenge to do my daily walk but as I am using it it’s getting easier. It does put pressure on your shoulders but I think this is unavoidable in a weighted vest. I like that it’s adjustable, you don’t want it too big where it flops around and hits you. I do wish it came up a little higher towards my neck but that is my only complaint. For reference I am 5’6” and 135 lbs.
