Cars Color Changers Mack

This is my toddlers favorite toy which have turned into a whole collection of color changing cars! I will say the temperatures of the water have to be really cold (I usually have to put ice in it for it to work) or pretty warm so you’re constantly having to change out the water but that doesn’t bother me. HOURS of play, seriously the best toy!

I gave this as a birthday present and the young man loved it.

Does not change color with cold water. Kind of beats the whole purpose of the toys.

My toddler loves playing with Mack, even when not playing with the color changing aspect. I was frustrated at first like other reviewers saying that the color change doesn’t work— but realized that you need to use ice water for Lightning to turn purple. Cold water isn’t enough! Add an ice cube. If your kid goes back and forth between the warm and cold water, you’ll need to change the water often as drops of cold water get in the warm and vice versa. Yes, it’s messy and parents need to be involved if a toddler is playing. Use a splat mat like the ones for under a high chair and it makes clean up easier :)

Haven’t opened it yet. We have been watching the videos on it. Bought as a gift, but love the packaging and vibrant colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Lightening McQueen color changing car wash is a great addition to my kids vehicle collection! The whole thing can be folded to be put away, and can be played with as Mack the semi truck. Lightening changes colors in the water bins. One side holds hot (warmer) water, and the other side holds cold. It helps to put an ice cube in the cold side, so the temperature has more of a drastic difference. Lightening McQueen starts going up the ramp that fold down in the back. He drives up to the lift, and is lifted to the washing platform. He can drive into the hot or cold tanks, changing color very quickly. The cold water changes him to a black/purple. You can use the squeegee to change parts or the car by swiping water with it. There's also a squeeze bottle you can use to squirt the car. After his wash, Lightening can get sponged off and dried with the fan, both of which rotate.

My son loves it. He is 5. Make sure you have some cold water.

Another Cars toy that’s junk. The hand crank track stops working several times and now this. The car changed what? One time?? And there’s never any color changing ones in the store to buy other ones. We had an older color changing lightning McQueen but it’s also not working. 🙃 save your money unless they’d like just playing in the water.

Any toy that requires a lot of work on my part is a no go for me. You need hot AND cold water for it to work. The cold/hot water then mix together and lose temperature very quickly which means you have to change the water constantly. It would’ve been cool for them to have the cars change colors without the water having to be hot/cold.

Cool to play with the first day but after that, the car stopped changing color. Kinda cheaply made so if your child plays rough, it won’t last long.

The car definitely doesn’t change colors which is its main selling point but my sons loves it so that’s all that matters. We use soapy water since the car didn’t change color.

The advertised a larger water cup because obviously a larger cup would have been better. You can’t have an and the car in the cup so you have to ice the water and then remove the ice. The cup is so small for hot water than it only takes a few dunks for it to be overpowered by cold water. My sons sits an plays with it all day because he’s not picky but this toy can be a lot of work when I have time to get up every couple minutes to change the water. If this was a 15$ toy I wouldn’t complain. It was 40$. There is no excuse for a poor design for 40$.

Cool truck but the car does not change colors. Which is the supposed to be the most appealing part of this toy. I noticed all of the reviews are paid, mine is not. It's a two star toy. My kid liked it because he's a toddler and easy-going, but expensive and doesn't work. Lame toy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to receive and review the Disney/Pixar: Cars Color Changers Mobile Paint Shop Mack Playset (with 1 Toy Car & Accessories) from Mattel. Our whole family, adults & all, enjoy the Cars movie franchise; & our 6 y/o autistic son especially enjoys Lightning McQueen & Mater as he interacts with them along their many adventures. This is a long & narrow toy measuring up at: 10 inches (H) x 14 inches (W) x 3.2 inches (D) & 1.65 Pounds. It comes with Lightning McQueen Color Changers toy car, detachable Color Change Mack, spray 'paint' bottle & squeegee. Mack is two-stories tall & opens up to access everything! There's two tanks, one for warm water to initially change the colors on Lightning McQueen/Mack & a second one for ice water to change them back again. You can also use the included spray 'paint' bottle to have this fun in smaller, more targeted burts of color changing fun. We already own several of the Cars smaller vehicle toys. Sadly, none were narrow enough to fit in the “wash bays”. We made do with the car that came with the set & added a few of our own Matchbox cars for extra fun. We also used the spray 'paint' bottle on non-color-changing Cars toys just for fun. I love the attention to detail in this toy. It matches perfectly with the Cars movie franchise & allows for lots of imaginative play. This long toy will likely be a stay-at-home toy for us. It's not one that will easily fit in our son’s backpack for trips to the park or sleepovers at his grandparents’ houses. I also know from previous toy purchases in this line that the quality and safety of the figure(s) are top notch. I don't ever have to worry about letting my son have these toys straight from the package, with one small exception (see below). This toy is marked as appropriate for ages 4+. A note for safety: our son is autistic & puts non-food items in his mouth on a daily basis. We don't worry about him trying to swallow non-food items, so this toy is safe for him. Other parents of autistic/ND children might feel differently and should carefully assess this toy for safety with their child's own unique sensory needs/stims in mind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an awesome toy, my son wanted to open it as soon as we got home to play with the color changing car. He has loved cars since he was a baby and loves anything to do with cars as well as big trucks. This is a great toy for kids to play with, especially any that love cars or the movie Cars. Definitely recommend.
