Used them most of the summer of 23, on a 12 mile hike the grips turned my hands black, it never happens on shorter hikes.

These come in at 11.3 ounces for the pair. The handles are comfortable and provide a couple of hand placement options good for gaining and losing elevation. The straps are also fairly comfortable and the amount of basket attachments is nice to have for a variety of weather. I've put around 150 miles on them backpacking rocky and hilly Western and Central Pennsylvania and the tips have held up well so far. You'll have to play with the locking mechanism on the pole so they don't rattle with each stride, not a big issue though. I'm mostly a hammock camper but occasionally use a trekking pole style tent. These poles held through a windy storm with a very strong pitch on the fly. Ultralight and strong at a great price!

My P.T. Advised that I buy these, due to my balance problems. I am almost 78 years old and find that I can move around in a more confident way. For the most part , I use one pole in my daily life; but if I am on uneven ground of any sort, I use both poles. I am very happy with the results of this move to a more stable way of getting around. I would suggest this to anyone with balance issues. Canes and other devices do not allow for standing/walking in “perfect posture.”

I adore my ultralight poles from Cascade Tech. I've had quite a few poles over the years and these are by far my favorite...especially for the price.

These poles are amazing value. I've used them for all-day 20+ mile runs and hikes. They are light enough for me to hold them in my hand for long periods when running long descents. I've used them moderately hard for rocky climbs and jammed them in cracks by accident without issue so far. I plan to use these for backpacking trips out in the Sierras this summer, and ultramarathons after. I have poles that cost several times more and are not meaningfully lighter, but I keep reaching for these Cascade Mountain Tech Ultralight poles.
Maybe too light?

One broke on me on the first use. That being said, it was while hiking through snow and I fell and put all my weight on one pole. I think it can be fixed and the poles should work on normal hikes, but you might want something more rigid for snow hikes.

I'm a volunteer park patroller and have now used these on many hikes. They're extremely lightweight yet sturdy. I do notice a difference with the lighter weight in my hands. At first I was concerned whether they'd make a buzzing sound (as one reviewer posted with an overly harsh one-star review) but it hasn't occurred with me.

I was referred to try these off a You Tube video, "PCT section hiker gear review." Ordered a set for the wife and myself. Gave them a training test on a 3K' ft gain hike/scramble over about 5 miles. We are both avid runners so switching between running with the poles and using them as an aide was essential. We were both very happy with them thus far. They felt a tad flimsy when full extended at 130mm but when there's a huge ascent we are using the poles around 115-120mm which makes them feel super sturdy. Happy with the ease at which the poles can switch between carbide tips and soft tips.
