Q: Are you supposed to remove the clear plastic piece from the middle of the unit, or is that there for a reason? Would be nice if you all included actual instructions!

A: No, you pour water into it and it has a special area in the middle that makes mist when plugged up. Super simple to use.

Q: Can this be used outdoors like we are told in the info? Bc the cord says dry area only?! I bought this and will be very disappointed if I cannot put it outside. I would like an answer asap!

A: I used it inside just initially after purchasing. I would think as long as the area is dry where it is plugged in it should work. Not sure how it would look (not that it wouldn't still mist).

Q: Is a green light supposed to turn on when it’s plugged in, without water in it? I haven’t added water in it. A green light flashed once when I plugged it in. I need to make sure it works before I return it.

this piece of junk leaks everywhere, and it got water on the cord, which made it stop working. very dangerous. why would they make the cord not waterproof when this thing needs WATER and then leaks everywhere? This is so cool and the mist really looks like smoke! Just add water and plug in. I saw a review that mentioned lots of splatter and I noticed that only happens if the water is about mid level. If you keep it near max, the splatter is minimal. It actually lasts a pretty long time, too. I've had it running for over 3 hours and it's still barely below the max fill line.

This is the third year we have purchased it and they still have not figured out how to make it not spray water over the sides. Every year I say “surely they would not make another crap version that turns into an electrical hazard as soon as you turn it on” and I buy it again because it’s such a cool idea and every year I am wrong.

Cool cauldron!
Works really well. Plugged it in, added water and it started immediately. It's been outside since yesterday 9/25 but i only turn it on a few hours in the evening since the instruction's indicate to not leave it running without water, I'm unsure how long on full water would last. Since it's outside I haven't noticed or been bothered by the splashing.

This is the SECOND cauldron I've bought and neither of them have worked. You plug it in and it lights up green for one second and then the light goes out and that's it. Motor doesn't run, water doesn't filter through and lights don't work. Two machines???

Nice but...
I purchased these online during sale. They are an ok size, constructed of plastic. I bought 2 to use outside my entryway. As another review said they can come damaged in shipping. I received one that had a little plastic cap. This piece is important to have as its function is to help keep the water splashing to a minimum, and it seems to disperse the water vapor in a nice way. These caps remind me of a plastic end cap on tubes of gift wrap packaging. One was somewhat glued on the plastic cylinder that disperses the water vapor. The second cap was missing. I got lucky and was able to find another one in stock in my area, and it actually had the cap. I like the aesthetic of our for my Halloween decorations, but would buy in store while on sale as they’re not great quality, and were damaged in shipping.
